my first time using wireless internet adapter on 360 how do get online

If I don't have the adapter plugged into the console, it can't find my wireless network. I just get a message saying "To use a wireless internet connection, connect an Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter to your console."

If possible try connecting your console to the router using an ethernet cable instead of the wireless adapter. This will confirm if the problem is limited to the wireless or the internet connection.

If the problem goes away once you have used cable or you can't try plugging it in directly take a look at the

wireless adapter support page.

Next option is to unplug the adapter, reset all of the wireless settings to default and follow the

connection setup steps.

You could also try buying the headset adapter if you already have a nice 360 headset. The adapter works, but it may be hard getting used to at first. I use my 360 X41 wireless 360 headset and works great for me.

No-the 360 is a closed platform unlike a PC.A wireless adapter requires you to install a program onto the device you want internet on. A 360 will not let you do this.I feel your pain.I used a Netgear adapter for my internet for a long time.I finally had
to get a regular dsl connection.Maybe you can get a refund for the device .Can you not get internet from a local ISP? It should be in the same price range .A 10 -12 mb connection should be 30-40 bucks a month.
