My external storage device is not connecting

have check every thang. usb ports and if it die and it runs fine it just don’t want to connect it did this ones be for and i had to reformate it and xbox is up to date. I payed 100+$ for it and hoped it would at least work for 2 months. A working one or a
refund would be nice. You guys at microsoft should make sure your products work before selling them.

do you notice any difference in performance when there is no external storage device compared to when the external storage device is connected, or when the external storage device is connected to a different USB port?

Ive got an external storage device connected with games on but it wont let me select external storage for it to save too!

no, i have no external storage devices or anything out of the ordinary connected to my xbox.

My console is xbox one and device is up-to date with no pending updates to be installed. I have western digital hard drive with 1TB size. The connecting USB cable is 3.0.

My console is not detecting external storage device. Before writing here, i did browse for solution and there was an option to un-check setting "turn off external device when console is off". I tried that but no smile.

Please help me to connect my external device and browse the contents on my console.

Note : i do not want to extend console storage with external hard drive.
