    My external hdd has started to turn the Xbox off


    Please help. My external hdd has worked without problems for over 6 months. Today the Xbox one wouldn’t turn on. Long story short, the external hdd is turning the Xbox off. I finally got the Xbox to turn on, as soon as I plug the hdd usb lead into the Xbox....the
    console turns off.

    What has happened and how do I fix it?

    Xbox 360 Flash Drive Problem

    I am attempting to use 2 flash drives to replace my Xbox External HDD. I formatted both memory sticks and transferred all my content over from the external HDD. However, when I turn off the xbox, remove the Xbox External HDD and restart it, I can no longer
    see the 2 memory sticks in memory management. When I plug back in the Xbox External HDD, I can see the 2 memory sticks through memory management. Is it a requirement for me to have the External HDD plugged in to use the flash drives or am I just doing something
    wrong?

    Background download with external HDD

    Hi, I would like to download to my external hard disk with the xbox turned off. The problem is that if I turn off the xbox, the external hdd is also turned off becasue it must be powered by xbox.

    How could i do?

    I'm having the same issue with external hdd 2TB WD (it also have own power supply). I uncheked "turn off storage when xbox turned off", but downloads still not downloading. But if you turn off Xbox, of course i've it on instant mode, and then unplug and
    plug back usb from external hdd it starts downloading. This is probably the last of what I can do to starts downloading. I hope they will fix it.

    There is a weird, rare bug that can cause network problems with an external harddrive. If you have one, try to turn it off, start the Xbox and connect to the internet. If that works, you can turn the external hdd on again.

    Hey bud.. if you have a extrenal HDD connected turn your xbox off and then unplug the hdd, turn console back on and do the update.. once update finishes turn xbox off and plug back in your external hdd.. this should 100% work for you
    Thank you! My external SSD plugged into my Series X was somehow causing this issue to happen. I turned the console off, unplugged it, and now it's updating just fine.
