    My external hardrive is detected, I can see my games, but I cant play them.


    Like I said, I can see games on my hardrive but cant play them. I can play games on my internal drive. It uses usb 3.0

    Xbox is not detecting my external hardrive.

    Sometimes external HDD die, have you tried connecting the drive to your PC to see if it can recognize it? If the PC doesn't see it too then it's probably the external storage that is faulty.

    Disconnect the hard drive

    try to power cycle your console. Please hold down the power button on the front of the console for approximately 15 seconds until the power light shuts off. Wait about 60 seconds, then power it back on. Be sure you see the green "XBOX ONE" animation loading
    screen when you power it back up. then connect back i hope that help

    but if you here a clinking noise maybe you're drive is damage.

    It didnt help, but i didnt hear a clicking noise, just the usual noise it makes
