So today I payed for a 3 month subscription to xbox live gold.

Not only was I charged twice but after numerous attempts to be called by microsoft and hung up on twice.

I decided to give up and keep the accidental 6 month subscription.

Only to learn that microsoft cancelled my gold subscription (without me actually asking).

Having apparently refunded ONE of the 3 month subscriptions they have also completely cancelled my gold subscription.

It seems that their answer is to tell me to have faith that the refund will come through (between 48 and 72 hours) for both and to purchase ANOTHER three month subscription in the mean time and hope that the refund comes through.

No bonus for being screwed around and ripped off and no way to have my subscription back until the refund comes through.

    NOT IMPRESSED MICROSOFT

    :)

360 Model - Standard, white, old.

    Television Model - http://www.amazon.com/VIZIO-E322MV-...1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1327452678&sr=1-1-catcorr

Issue - Having finally gotten a flow of.... well more of a trickle of money with my job as a cashier for a store in this town, I've decided to stop using my 19'inch standard television with incredibly horrible reso/visual display, and buy an hdtv. On an
added note, I've purchased this tv for only 298 at a store in another town, but it is this very television and it has not been used before (aside from my few day use since last saturday's purchase).

Now to get to the core of the issue. After finally figuring out how to get hdtv mode to work with my 360's compatiblity cables, I've noticed a few issues right away with the visual display when playing a game like BF3 or ME1. The shadow pixels look terrible.
They look spread out and (even though within its own boundaries set by the creators of the game), seem to go all over the place, making anything it is layered on top of to look pretty bad too, or harder to see.

To fix this issue, I've been forced to lower my reso to 420/480p (can't remember which reso it is, but I'm sure you guys know) to smooth out the majority of the shadow pixel issue. The issue that follows THIS though is the characters in games like ME1 or
even Sonic Adventure (from the game marketplace), looks almost pastel like when in adventure mode (aka running around). It just makes my character in games like ME1 look.... well bad. Not entirely terrible, but nothing to be considered good either.

Keep in mind I am using the white older version of the standard 360 console and am using the standard hdtv compability cables it comes with (comboing G,B,R for visual and W,R for sound).

I'd like to know, will switching to an hdmi cable and buying that new 360 slim fix this issue I am having visually? I'd ask if I should just play in standard, but this shadow pixel issue does apply to BF3 as well, and I'd be very surprised if that wasn't
    an hd compatible game.

Please and thank you for your help.

    By old white 360, I mean like, not that long after the ring of death epidemic. So my 360 doesn't even have an hdmi port. Plus it's making that old machine clicking noise when running games that my older one made before it died. xx;

Ok then you will need to get another one to get the full HD experience, you can get the slimline for a reasonable price now, and you can get preowned pro or elite consoles still. But be carefull where you buy preowned consoles i would go to a gaming store.
EB games has them if you have that gaming store where you live or look on google to see what store are in your location. Beware buying from other places as sometimes in the past people have bought from ebay and other online stores only to find when they get
them it does not work or it's a console that has been banned from using xbox live, most gaming stores will give you a 30 day warranty as well on pre owned console so if it doesn't work on live take it back. If you can get a slimline then you only need a good
quility HDMI cable and it has inbuilt wireless and a 250GB hard drive, you can usually get a couple of games and extra controller out of them to if you like to push for a better deal. I hope this info helps you out i have a good knowledge of electronic equipment
so if you have any other questions feel free to post and i will try to help.

I would suggest buying a proper HDMI cable to connect your xbox to you tv, But being the White Console you will need the proper Xbox microsoft cables. This is because if you want to run the optic cable to connect your xbox to a surround sound system for
digital sound you need both cables side by side and only the microsoft one fit next to each other. However if you just want the sound to come from your tv a standard good quility HDMI cable will be fine. Battlefield 3 uses high capacity graphcs so that maybe
why you have to lower the output on your xbox if your using the coloured RCA cables. I have a white 360pro console thats 4 yrears old and it still works fine on 1080p with official xbox cables as i use the fibre optic connection as well. So try the cables
first that will be cheaper then buying the new slimline which i also have and i don't think is that much better then the older model except it has inbuilt wireless. Most gaming stores will have the proper cables for the older consoles to run the HDMI and fibreoptic
side by side and also a standard HDMI if you just want sound from the tv. I hope this helps and also check the tv manual for HDMI setup as well to make sure it's compatible with how you want to run your setup.
