@Bird125 that mentally is the reason as to why Microsoft and a lot of other companies get away with doing BS. Buying a new controller isn't the issue here. The issue is that Xbox is telling me I have no other option but to buy a controller that will likely
have the same problem I had before. A problem that Xbox is aware happens with their controllers.

  2. When you buy a new car, it comes with tires. When they wear out, you "have no other option" but to buy new tires that will likely [read as definitely] have the same problem you had before. A problem that the tire manufacturer is aware happens with their
    tires...

  3. So you believe there's nothing wrong with investing in a product that's doomed to fail?

Do you believe there's a problem with buying new tires when the old ones wear out... just because that's investing in a product that's doomed to fail?

  5. I do think that's a problem. And if the company is aware that this issue happens to a lot of people then all it proves is that the company is okay with doing shady business practices. I don't know if you enjoy continuously spending money on items that break
    but I don't.

Stop being a sheep, wake up and smell the ***.

  6. Seriously!? SMH... it's common sense that things with moving parts wear out. Stop denying what is a known fact, wake up and smell the physics.

  7. 90 day warranty is completely irrelevant seeing how they were able to send me a new Xbox 360 when it got red ring, which was out of warranty btw. You're clearly an Xbox apologists so you're opinion isn't needed our wanted here. I suggest you gtfo my thread.

@A Blue Illusion you're argument is so one sided. Pretty much what you've been saying this whole time in a nutshell is " everything is bound break, when it does just buy a new one". Which is ridiculous.

If it's out of warranty then you can't expect them to replace it. A few years ago I had a $800 part of my furnace die just a week after its 3 year warranty was up. That's life. Just be glad it was your controller, which is cheap and easy to replace, and
    not your console.

  10. I could say the exact same thing about your issue.

In a nutshell, you're saying that the controller should be replaced by the manufacturer, at no cost to you, just because one of its components wore out.

At least I tried to offer a common sense, factual... and undeniable, BTW... explanation. What have you offered to counter that? Other than 'It broke, so it should be replaced for free'.

The warranty period is completely relevant. Hardly any company is going to replace something outside of it's warranty period. That's how the world works. The 360's warranty was extended (to 3 years, IIRC) for RROD issues. So no, your 360 was not out of warranty.
    That's why it was replaced.

And if you want to label me as an "Xbox apologist" too then I'd seriously suggest you check my post history first.

  12. "My Day One Controller developed a bad case of "drift". I just went and bought a new one. About ever two years or so is typical for me to have some kind of issue with a Controller and this is all the way back to the Atari 2600. Its a simple fact of life
of a Controller in most cases, stuff gets used a lot and breaks."

I know one of my sons could say the same if he was that old. He is brutal in those sticks. For him it is just the natural way he plays. Puts a lot of wear on them. I purchased a few new. Finally decided to start replacing the bad stick, the internal
part, with a good one from the other controllers since I kept them. The left and right sticks are the same and attach to the board the same. That goodness for that as it saved a lot of money. I am also sure I will have to do this with his Xbox One controller
    at some point.

@Lestat573 I purchased my first Xbox 360 in 2006. I got the RROD in 2010. Xbox support replaced my Xbox without even mentioning a warranty. That's why I can't fathom that they could replace a console but refuse to replace a controller.

The rrod was a much wider problem than the controller problem you're having and it killed the $300 system which is why they took it back out of warranty.

  15. I just had to replace the XB1 special forces controller I purchased when it released back in October I guess. Depends on what you play. I've played a lot of Destiny so that wears on the left stick. Oh well I'm on my 3rd controller; the Day One controller
works fine I just stopped using it.
