    My error issues


    Ok, like most of the others with this problem, here are mine and all of the steps that I have taken to try and correct it.

    I could not connect to xbox live. I got a yellow exclamation point, which I didn't get what it was. I called Microsoft support and went through these steps,

    1. Turn off my router and restarted it.

    2. Cleared the cache.

    3. Logged into login.live and checked my security information.

    4. Deleted Gamer Profile

    5. Told to recover gamer profile from sign in screen.

    6. Got this error code 800704DC

    7. Was told that it was because the downloadable content had been disabled per the service alert.

    This is where I figured I would give it a day to get resolved due to that issue.

    8. Next day, still not able to recover gamer profile

    9. Called Microsoft support back and got new rep.

    10. Went through some of the same things as before, this person didn't seem as knowledgeable as the first.

    11. Was told that they were going to send this to another department that will contact me via e-mail.

    12. Never got an e-mail.

    13. Tried again yesterday, noticed that there was no service alert, so figured I could download my gamer profile.

    14. Got denied after about 10% and then got a different code.

    15. Still have not received an e-mail and this is day 4. I was told I would receive that e-mail within 3 days, which didn't happen.

    Now I see that there are people on here that have been waiting for weeks to get this situation resolved. Apparently this is an issue that needs to be taken seriously and get fixed.

    Sorry for the vent, I'm just frustrated and there doesn't appear to be a fix anytime soon.

    Problems Buying Online

    I used to get an error code when I wished to buy but then I found out that it was because of some issue with my credit card. I contacted my credit card company and they did an online verification and then I was able to make my purchase.

    Tried buying Alan Wake on xbox.com but got the sorry error and tried on Xbox one with error saying to try website

    Not being mean or anything, but knowing there was no fix, why would you post a thread? Just wondering. I am one of the few that has downloaded it without error, still have not got around to playing it.

    I posted the thread because I was asked to post a different thread than the one I replied to by a moderator. So in reply to your comment, that is why.

    Now I'm glad that your issue got resolved, but mine hasn't. This is an issue that we are having, that I'm sure most of us would like to get resolved.

    Ok, so here's another update. I contacted XBox support, after 4 days of waiting. I was on the phone with them for over 5 hours, we went through absolutely everything. At the end, I was told that it was probably something with my internet provider and
    that I would need to contact them to resolve this issue.

    So, I decided to try something different. I took my xbox to a friends house, hooked it all up, downloaded his gamer profile onto my xbox. Tried to download my gamer profile and got the error message again. I then hopped onto his xbox and tried to download
    my gamer profile onto his and got the same error code. So this is something on their end, probably with the programming.

    So far, it's been 6 days and numerous, numerous amounts of hours on the phone. Now their support seems to be doing all they can to help so I'm trying to help also by trying all these other options.

    Hey there sherman!

    I'm confused why an agent on phone support would refer to this error code as a problem with your ISP. The person you spoke with should have the knowledge to understand that error code 800704DC (in 99% of the cases) is related to an authentication problem
    with your account.

    If you haven't already, visit Sign in to your Microsoft account and make sure your payment options (in its current state) is up-to-date. You may also want to read:
    How to manage payment methods

    Do you have the two-step verification turned on/enabled for your Microsoft account?

    I'm not sure either. At the time I was ready to try anything. So here's the updated status. After being told twice now that I would be contacted by someone from xbox, after both times of hearing nothing back by the times that were given to me, I called
    them back again. While on the phone for 2+ hours I explained (what feels like a million times) the problem that I was having. Now for some reason on my account, I was being charged twice and one was for a 1 month subscription. I asked them about it and
    upon them deleting the useless subscription I was able to download my gamer profile. I know you all are probably like GREAT it's fixed, NOPE. I try to log into xbox live and get the same code. So after another hour I was told for a third time that someone
    will contact me back, because they are escalating my situation. Which I apologize to the people at their support for laughing and being short, but I've heard this already twice, and both times I've heard nothing.

    If I can download my buddies account onto my xbox, log into it with no problem at my house, yet I can't download my profile at his house either, this is something with my profile and xbox. Oh and on a final note. Thanks to the free weekend I was able to
    create and play on a new account while I was waiting. And Hope Monger, I tried to explain to them how you fixed your issue, but they just blew that off like they didn't care to hear it.

    I should clarify something in my previous post. I got my profile back, but upon trying to sign in I get the same error code. At least now I can play single player games. Which is a plus. Trying to be positive.

    Once I learn what it takes to resolve this issue, I'll post a step by step process that you'll need to do to get it fixed. That is of course the moderators allow me to.

    So, as of now, I still have not had this issue resolved. My first post, which was done on the 14th in here, had been several days after I initially gotten the error. I finally get contacted back by their "escalation team", get a code that didn't work,
    and I'm still not able to get on. I leave a reply, per the man from the e-mail, and no response. In his e-mail he puts that it's a quick and easy fix. Well I beg to differ. I truly hope that no one else has this issue. It's a headache that doesn't have
    an end in sight.

    Ok, on a good note. I got an e-mail today advising that the issue that I'm having is related to the 2 year plan that I am subscribed to. Good, we've narrowed it down to that. On a side note, the guy that was dealing with it, that had the easy fix, has
    to now send me off to a colleague of his that specializes in that area. Sigh, so now I have to wait a couple more days.

    It seems at this point, I'm just chatting with myself in these forums. But if you happen to stumble across this, with the issues with your xbox that I have and you have a 2 year subscription, it's probably related and hopefully I'll be able to cut your
    off-line time down by about a week and a half.
