My Entire family's Gaming, all lost to E68, any ease of pain?

Hello,

My name Josh. I have recently suffered what i suspect is a hard drive failure. The e68 error popped up last week and has years of my family's gaming history wiped clean. I have followed all the necessary help topics and research that could be found. So I guess
this is not a "help me i don't know what I am doing post" but something else.

I am looking for anything that could ease my wife, kids, and my own pain. I understand I should of had data backups so I do have myself to blame. Although the hard drive and console showed no signs of distress or abnormal behavior before it suddenly kicked
the bucket. I paid for a two year warranty and of course its three years old. Same story with our original first gen 360, red ring just after warranty, and our second Xbox stopped reading discs. So this slim is our third Xbox with problems.

So like i said earlier, there is probably nothing Microsoft will do to compensate us even a little bit. What about a discount on a new hard drive? I feel like I have spent so much money on the cheap headphones, controller's, and multiple charging cords that
for some reason just stop working after a month or two. Now our gold subscription lays useless until i pony up another bill for a new hard drive, and completing start again from scratch.I know I am venting and grasping at straws here. Is there anything that
could be done? Any sort of perk for being a loyal Microsoft customer?

Sorry for the long post. Just needed to talk it out.

Faulty HDD on xbox 360 slim

I took theHDD out and put it back in to make sure everything was tight, re-formatted it and it worked fine. I just lost all of the DLC that I spent and entire afternoon re-downloading. At least the new HDD didn't get the E68 error...yet. Very disappointed
after going through 4 original xboxs and now this.

E68 suggests a
hardware issue more than a storage issue. Try removing the hard drive from your console and see if the console will start up without the drive in it.

If it does not then you should get the console repaired/replaced. If it works then you may need to either purchase a new hard drive (and do a transfer of the data) or try the hard drive in a different console if you can to see if it works.
