My Downloaded Destiny Game will not work on new Xbox one after changed xbox's

I purchased a new xbox one and sold my older xbox one. I had purchased the on demand game Destiny and downloaded on the older console which i deleted before selling. I downloaded the Destiny to the new xbox one under my same user name. When I try to play
the game it starts and then shows can not connect to the server. I am connected to the internet and xbox live.

I can play all the games I bought on the black friday sale and downloaded to the new xbox one that were purchased and only installed on the new xbox one. Just not destiny which was originally downloaded to the old xbox one. I have deleted the game and
reinstalled it but no success. Any suggestions so I can get the game going again. Thanks, Jeff

Can't recover gamertag

That will not work. I already tried that. I even tried to recover it with someone from Xbox support.

Can my account be on two Xbox One's at the same time? We only have one Xbox and I want to possibly buy a new one for my little brother so we can play together using the games I downloaded on my Xbox account and transfer my account to the new Xbox while having
my account on my own xbox and downloading my games onto his xbox and then since Gold can be shared throughout accounts he won't have to buy any Gold. Is it possible to have my account on both Xbox's so he can have my games and my Gold too so we can play more
games together like GTA V, Battlefield 1, Destiny, etc. ? I need to know asap before someone else buys the xbox I may want.

If only Destiny is not working, it MIGHT be, that (un-)intentionally Activision removed the ability to unlock the Xbox One Destiny with the Xbox 360 disc.

They offered owners of the original Xbox 360 Destiny the option to upgrade to the Xbox One Destiny during a transition period.

Maybe they removed that option to prevent people from using "used" discs to unlock the game, or since Bungie is not affiliated with Activision anymore, Activision doesn't have the right to "unlock" disc versions anymore, or whatever.

So DO NOT buy another disc, as the Xbox One ONLY reads the security sector of a Xbox 360 disc, and depending on the security signature of the disc, "unlocks" the game as a digital download.

You will always have the same version downloaded on the Xbox One. So don't waste your money buying new discs. They won't change anything.

If you're intending to buy the game, simply buy the digital download version instead.

Yeah, i think upgrading to the Xbox One's download version of Destiny only works if you bought the Xbox 360's version of Destiny. I do lIke that games are doing that between consoles though! I'll have to start buying download versions since I plan on getting
a One soon but want the's new games now. Buying it twice would be a pain. :eek:

I just tried this method, changing the DNS. worked for updating my xbox one update, and now destiny is working. Changing the DNS changes the gateways being used by your router to connect to the internet. Microsoft put in new Azure servers in sydney and melbourne
and they are having a problem connecting to iinet. Go to settings, network, advanced, change your DNS manually and its all fixed
