my day one controller has gone wrong.

I would like to know if I can get my day one controller exchanged for a new one. Because it has started rolling upwards continually when I press upward once. How do I exchange it. I went back to my retailer and they told me I would have to either send the
whole console back or contact Microsoft.

Yes from what ive read here , if you need a console , their pretty good , if you need a power supply or controller , not so much.......( my day one controller has been gone since Christmas )

you can replace only your accessories.

Go on Xbox.com tor your Account an select "Manage devices".

Select "Replace accessories" and choose your controller. If you didn't regeistered it yet, do it now.

Follow the instructions of the replacement.

 

Short story (im going through it as we speak) YOU have to get a box and pack it , YOU have to drive to the post office , and (this is the worst of all ) YOU have to pay and ship it...........then when you check on it, it will just say "in process"......and
nobody will be able to tell you anything about it , expect at LEAST a month before you get it back ...."just buy another one if you really need it" was the response I got......good luck

 

actually truth is M$ have been cutting corners since 2010 on their xbox 360 controllers aka the thumbsticks and D-pads usually stick after about 2-3 months use via FPS's and heavy use due to production flaws im currently using a 3rd party wired controller
that outperforms a MS branded one and plus side comes with a 5 year warrentee including shipping aka Dreamgear brand !!!

 

Bimnog is correct, unless you want to return the whole console then you will be responsible for packaging the controller and paying for return delivery. Then you can expect a wait of around 28 days before getting the controller back in a terribly thin bubble-lined
envelope for protection!

It's a shocking situation frankly.

I haven't got around to blogging about the return postage yet but I have blogged about the analog stick fault including a video (not mine) of how and why the controllers are breaking. Link in signature or here:

Oh, and I did buy another one while waiting to get the Day One back. That broke after a day or two. Same fault.
