    My dashboard has a message that says to click launch to enjoy a free month of XBOX live but when I follow the directions, it shows a charge of $9.99. I contacted Support via chat, he gave me this link and said to post here for a resolution. Here is the
    screen shot I sent him.

    Got a message from Xbox Live earlier that reads

    "Hey! Just a reminder, you are eligible for a free one-month trial to Gold. Don't forget to take advantage of this great offer! Select the “Launch App” button to get started. Launch site"

    And when I click on it, it wants to charge me 9.99 is this a glitch or how do I redeem this?

    I see the same link and the same pages. This is indeed tailored to those of us who have already tried Game Pass in the past. It says things like, "Enjoy another 14-day Game Pass trial on us", "So much has changed since you left." and, "Comeback to Game Pass
    and play new Xbox exclusives at release, such as State of Decay 2 and Sea of Thieves." When you click on the link, it sends you to the Xbox Game Store and shows you the Xbox Game Pass $9.99 / month. ... There should be an option for "14 day Free Trial Free"
    or "1 Month $9.99". This looks like a scam on Xbox's part.

    Yes and No, I bought the XBOX One for my daughter and I, we set it up but then I got sick. The Xbox sat there for months. Now healthy, I got it back out and were going to play tonight which is when I logged on to Live and saw the message. It didn't have
    a date so I have no idea when it was sent. I assumed since I bought a bundle it came with it, and tried following the directions, which is when my original post came into play (pun intended My dashboard has a message that says to click launch to enjoy a free month of XBOX live but ... :) ).

    And thank you for such a quick reply. Just to be more specific, we have never used XBOX Live. When I said "setup" i just meant unboxing it and played one or two games of Lego cops or whatever, but not online. The yes was in reference to that is when
    the Gamer Tag was created, during the setup of the XBOX after unboxing it.
