    My dad and I Fixed, E74 Error (ONE RING)


    So what we did was take apart the xbox fully took it out of the case and took off the heat sinks.

    We then wiped the thermal paste off of the processor and gpu chip.

    We applied Arctic Silver 5 High-Density AS5 thermal compound to it after cleaning
    them successfuly each off the heat sinks and the chips.

    After we put everything back together and it powered back on.

    When I play Saints Row 3, shadows are substituted for small, gray squares.

    Well, there's a strange thing about my Xbox. It's had the E74 about 10-20 times and it's been running fine until now. All I've ever had to do was restart my Xbox and the E74 was gone. I had a Red Ring of Death before as well, but restarting my console fixed
    it.

    Graphics Glitches/Artifacts

    Hate to say it, but after clearing my game disc data/cache and rebooting, the issue persisted. What's worse, I rebooted once more after deleting my game saves, my box wouldn't reboot anymore (e74 error, red ring - bottom right light).

    Looks like the box is fried. Going to get it repaired and see if that fixes the artifact issues.

    FWIW, this Xbox had a RRoD about two years ago, and I fixed it myself. Guess it was good while it lasted.

    My findings: its a hardware issue. Sorry man.
