My cortana on my xbox one won't work

Can others hear you in a party? If you aren't sure, open a party and check to see if your icon lights up when you talk. If not, try another headset if you have one. If its still not working try for a soft reset by holding the power button until the console
shuts down. Disconnect the power cable for 10 seconds then reconnect and power back on. Check to see if its working.

in a party? What kind of headset are you using to give voice commands? We suggest

power cycling the console by holding down the power button on the console for ten seconds. We need to make sure the privacy setting to let Xbox and Cortana collect speech info is enabled. This can be found in your privacy & online safety settings. We will
provide steps on how to locate this setting. Be sure to let us know the results!

How to locate the privacy and online safety settings:

1. Press the Xbox button on the controller to pull up the guide
2. Select Settings
3. Select Privacy & Online Safety
4. Select App privacy
5. Select Speech
6. Make sure Let Xbox and Cortana collect my speech info is enabled
