My controller won’t stay powered on how do I fix?

My controller won’t stay powered on. I’ve had the controller for 7 years and no issues. I replace batteries, plugged it in and still nothing so I bought a new wired controller and still it won’t work.. wont power on at all but my Xbox one will turn on when I press the power button on my console. Is there any way to fix it?

not helpful at all. How do i update my controller if it won’t power on or move? I’ve already updated it. Same thing. Just wait until it happens to you.

That's a hardware problem, and need to be fixed by a Microsoft repair centre. There is nothing you can do to fix it yourself.

Thanks for reaching out to us in the forums. Are you able to first try a different plug to see if perhaps its that particular plug not working.

Also may i ask, is your power settings on instant on or energy saving?
