My controller seems to be dying rather quickly, even after letting it charge all night!

I've got the Lunar White controller. It's brand new. Now, the play and charge kit, I've been having that since the launch of Xbox One back in 2013. I can leave my controller plugged in charging over night, and it'll still dye rather quickly. When the white
light is showing on the charge cable hinting that it's fully charged, sometimes I'll unplug it, and it'll give me a "batteries are low" notification.

My controller is up to date. So that's not the problem. Do you think I should just go shell out $25 and get a new play and charge kit, or what? Anyone ever have these issues? Back when I first got this kit, I would be able to charge it over night and not
have to charge it again for at least a day. Now it seems I get a low battery notification within the hour.

All three of my rechargeable battery's gave out at the same time.

I was having issues with my two.

When their brand new, the first charge needs to be made with the console left on, and the charging battery untouched till it's fully charged, otherwise, it's charge 'memory' will be less.

Now, the instruction booklet says the cable will still charge the battery even with the console turned off. This is what I usually do, but that's where my problem seems to come in.

So to test, last week I left my console on all day, without playing, and just letting each pack, I have 2, have their turn fully charging without interruption. It seemed to work. The batteries now seem to be holding charge again, instead of having to charge
them both every night.

 

Yet ANOTHER Question.

For some reason, I can't play games with cable plugged in to the controller because the controller is constantly shutting off and then turning back on. So pretty much every other night, I plug in the charger before I go to bed and let it charge over night.
I never have any problems with the battery dying.

 

If you find that the batteries in your Play & Charge Kit are not storing energy as long as before, keep in mind that rechargeable batteries eventually wear out. The length of time that a rechargeable battery lasts depends on how frequently you use the battery
and how frequently you charge the battery. If you use the battery frequently, the battery won't last as long as if you use the battery only occasionally.

 

@metal I play my Xbox literally every day. I play for multiple hours a day. But, I let it my controller charge all through the night when I sleep. Even then though, there's no reason it should be dying so quickly after having been charging for hours.

Do you think I should get another charge kit?

 

If you used the charge kit frequently for 3 years I think its time to get another one.
