My Controller isn't recognizing my head set

Try Setting up a headset adapter which bypasses the 3.5mm socket which
may have gone faulty. Also you may need to Update your controller firmware. A
new update was released recently.

Is the end of the cable damaged at all (the metal part that goes into the controller) or is there any damage inside the port on the controller? Also have you tried updating your controller?

It sounds like it could be the headset jack on the controller itself that's causing the issue. Controllers have a limited 90 day warranty, anything past that and you would have to purchase a new one regardless. It may be the best option since there could
be a fee involved anyways.

Thank you for contacting the Xbox forum with your Headset question. Now if the headset is working on any other controller you have on the same Xbox console, then the issue may not be with your headset but with the controller itself. If you have a second
headset to test on that controller that would be helpful though working with what we have.

First, please what brand of headset are they and are they wired? If they are wired - do you hear anything, a crackling noise when you plug the headset into the controller via the port?

Second, can you please confirm the headset does work on other controllers?

And lastly did they stop working mid game or when you started a new day of gaming, basically you noticed they weren't working after turning on your xbox.
