My controller isn't letting me move or select anything?

Never mind I figured it out all I had to do was unplug the xbox😅

Kindly perform a powercycle on your controller by following the steps below:

"1. Press and hold the Xbox button for 5-10 seconds, until the controller turns off.

2. Wait a few seconds, then press and hold the Xbox button again to turn the controller back on."

May I know if you already tried re-syncing your Xbox controller with the console to see if that does the trick?

Press and release the Pair button on the Xbox.

Within 20 seconds, press and hold the controller’s Pair button (a circular button on top of the controller as you hold it in your hands) until the controller's Xbox button flashes a few times.

Once the Xbox button doesn't flash, that means is connected to your console.

Let me know how it goes, if that doesn't work.

I've also had this issue but without the GamerTag change. I think there may ne different password and GT length limits on 360 vs Modern though

A lot of Xbox One controllers seem to be deficient in some way or the other. My last controller's home and select buttons weren't working properly, and the left thumbstick seemed to make a clicking noise without me pressing the thumbstick's button. It just
clicked whenever I moved it.

I just got a replacement controller and its D-pad isn't working properly either. I can't seem to get a perfectly fine XbOne controller...
