My controller double clicks on Xbox home ONLY!

I own the xbox one s and one day the xbox home wasnt working properly. Everhtime i am using the home menu, when i press down it goes down 2 or 3 times same thing for every button on the controller. When i am in game the controller works just fine.

can someone help me fix this?

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely.
Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes.
Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

That is weird. Do you have another controller to test this with? That would identify if there is an issue with the controller or your console OS.

I might start troubleshooting in the Xbox Accessories App, and seeing if resetting that console to defaults
fixes the issue. If not, I'd follow through
some of the other troubleshooting steps listed here.

If it's not the controller and an issue with the console, I'd try resetting the console and see if that clears it up.

Try taking the batteries out and connecting via USB to see if it still does it.

Double check that there are no updates for controller required as that can cause some odd glitches
