My Controller buttons don't work what do I do

I don't have a PC what do I do now

if this is happening on a Xbox console then please try the following steps.

Perform a power cycle on the console by Holding the power button on the console for at least 10 seconds until you hear the console powering down. Wait until the console has shutdown fully and is quiet, then disconnect the console from power for at least 30 seconds. After that reconnect power to the console and power the console back on again by holding the Xbox button on the controller. Wait for the console to be fully started and check if the controller is working again.

If you have any external storage devices connected (or any other devices) via USB you may want to disconnect those too, I had controller issues myself once and that was caused by a failing external storage device.
