My console no longer recognizes an original Xbox game

I'm trying to play Phantom Crash on my older Xbox 360. I recently got an E model with a 500 gig hard drive and it recognizes the game disk but the game is very unstable and freezes all the time. I've recently heard that changing your screen settings to 480P
makes the game more stable. But since my newest 360 didn't come with HDMI cables I couldn't change the screen settings on it. So I decided to hook up my older model Xbox 360 with it's old hard drive and try it on that. But now that console is no longer recognizing
the game disk.

The hard drive it uses is an official Microsoft 120 gig model bought directly from the Microsoft store many years ago and it USED to play original Xbox games just fine.

Naturally I used a transfer cable to transfer all of my data from the older 120 gig to the newer 500 gig when I got my new console. Would that have anything to do with it?

Xbox 360 - won't recognize xbox memory card (64M) and controllers won't connect

My Xbox 360 will no longer recognize my memory card (Microsoft product - original Xbox 360 product) and won't show any of my profiles stored on the card. The card works fine in a second xbox. Also, none of controllers will connect to the xbox anymore.
There are no lights or codes on the xbox. What could be wrong?

My xbox one no longer recognizes my external storage device so I can not install any of our new Christmas games!

 

Where did you get the transfer cable from? If it was not an official Xbox transfer cable that could very well be the issue. 3rd party cables are notorious for messing things up and are not covered under any type of Xbox warranty.

 

Third party transfer cables can muck things up during transfer, but it may very well be a compatibility issue. Xbox original games were never properly supported to begin with. I'd try clearing cache to see if the console can 're-download' the emulation profile.
