1. My connection is being weird, showing MTU = 0

Since yesterday, my XB is having connection issues. I ran several tests, and sometimes it had 15% packet loss, or 0.00 Mbps upload and MTU 0, or/and high latency. I did tried power cycling, resetting my console, putting my ip on dmz, you name it. Also,
I think it's not provider related because my computer gives me normal connection tests results.

    :)

  3. MTU error

Hey guys! So this is really weird. My connection was PERFECT up until like a week ago, where it sometimes connects fine, but other days it shows the dreaded "MTU error". Now I know that this is NOT an MTU error as my MTU settings are 1500. I have tried a
LOT of things. Shall I post my error status report? Oh and I have the Virgin Superhub.

Please help My connection is being weird, showing MTU = 0 :(

    Thanks,

    Matt

    Hi,

Could you post up the make and model of your router and your modem as well (if this is not a single unit).

Have you tried to power cycle your networking equipment (have it powered off for a couple of minutes)?

Let's try with a basic IP connectivity test (ping) and add a specific packet size, to determine if packet needs to be fragmented (when DF set).

Connect your computer with an Ethernet cable directly to the ADSL modem.

Windows: Open up a command prompt (press "Windowskey + R", then type "cmd" and press Enter).

In the black window that opens, type: ping www.xbox.com -f -l 1364

Mac: Select spotlight and type Terminal. in the Terminal window, type: ping -D -s 1364 www.xbox.com

  5. My router is a Dlink DIR-809, my modem I don't really know, my carrier lends me it. I tried power cycling every single thing. Here are the ping test results:

    Resposta de 173.222.159.244: bytes=1364 tempo=33ms TTL=54

    Resposta de 173.222.159.244: bytes=1364 tempo=35ms TTL=54

    Resposta de 173.222.159.244: bytes=1364 tempo=34ms TTL=54

    Resposta de 173.222.159.244: bytes=1364 tempo=33ms TTL=54

    Estatísticas do Ping para 173.222.159.244:

    Pacotes: Enviados = 4, Recebidos = 4, Perdidos = 0 (0% de

    perda),

Aproximar um número redondo de vezes em milissegundos:

Could you replace "1364" with 1480, to see if it reports anything unusual.

Is your console wired or wireless to your router?

Have you reached out to ISP, to have them know about your situation?

  7. Using 1480 gets me 100% loss. I'm using wireless, I can't use a wired connection. I didn't reach my ISP because everything works fine except my Xbox

It make perfect sense that you'll get 100% packet loss with a fixed packet size of 1480 (due to IP overhead of 28 bytes). It was a typo from my end. It should be 1380 (I don't see any problems with 1380 if you managed to send with a fixed size of 1364).

Could you go into your console's network settings and select Multiplayer test. When the test is finished, press and hold, simultaneously, the following combo on your controller: RB+LT+RT+LT, and let me know if those values correspond with the previously
    known values.

Let me know what is says regarding your detailed NAT information query.

If the above is to no avail, and since you're unable to make a direct connection with your console, I would suggest that you go ahead and reset your router to factory defaults (and make sure your router is up-to-date with the latest version of firmware (visit
the website of your router manufacture)).
I didn't reach my ISP because everything works fine except my Xbox
That I can tell you right away is not a guarantee. It could be something as simple as failing route to a specific network.

    Keep us posted.

  10. Pinging with 1380 gave me 1 packet lost the first time, but after a couple of minutes repeating, I had not a single loss.

Running the multiplayer test, my NAT is moderate. I don't know how it is written in english, but in portuguese it says that my NAT is restricted by a UPnP port (?).

Today, I reached my ISP, and he resetted my signal or something like that. I played a couple of matches of Smite on my pc and everything was fine, but on pc, I was rubberbanding regularly.

Do you still see packet loss from your console's deatailed network statistics test?

At this point, it would be good if you are able to find out the make and model of your modem, so we can have a better understanding of what type of networking device we're dealing with.

Is there any chance you could wire your console?

  13. My connection is being weird, showing MTU = 0

So, yesterday I decided to try my older router, and I was able to play flawlessly. This leads me to think my new router had some configuration that was conflicting with my XB. It was a Dlink DIR-809. (Yes, I was still having packet losses, but even at 1%,
    it was unplayable)

Did you ever reset your D-Link to factory defaults and made sure it is running on the most recent version of firmware, as I suggested?

  15. Yes, I did, which is odd. It was working until last week.
