    My clips won’t record well, it always happens and it doesn’t matter if the game is in the internal or external memory. Seems like the heavier the gane the more lag it gets

    I can’t really tell when it started to happen

    Xbox series S ver: 10.0.22000.1759

    I am a gamer and independent advisor on the XBOX community platform.

    Hey KilGrinusthard, how are you today? Hope you're well.

    So, try this on the console and see if it betters the performance:

    First clean the cache of your console that way:

    1. Hold the XBOX power button on the console for 10 seconds until you hear a small sound.

    2. Wait 10 seconds.

    3. Turn it back on.

    Note: It may take a while for him to call, don't worry, it's normal.

    Then, restore your console, keeping the games and apps:

    ***IMPORTANT*** If you share accounts with someone, you will have to redo the process of placing the account as the main one again, be aware of the chances you still have to do this, as Microsoft makes available per year, only 5 chances, so you can make some account your console's main account.

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the dashboard.

    2. Select System > Settings > System > Console Information >

    3. Select Reset console > Restore and keep my games and apps.

    4. When asking to pull settings from an old xbox, put "no, thanks"

    5. You will have to log in your accounts again, and when you sign in with your account, make sure you turn it has your home console also, that's it.

    NOTE: Rest assured, you won't lose games or saves

    Yep im on series X as well and have the exact same issues. For the first 2 months i had it there were no problems but i believe after an update a few months ago my clips began to lag/stutter. It ruins the point of recording a clip imo. Would be nice if ms would fix this.

    I can see that you are experiencing lagging issues with your game clips on your Xbox Series S. To better assist you, I would like to ask you a few questions:



    - How often does the lagging issue occur? Is it only with certain games or all games?

    - How long are the game clips that you record? Do you use the default settings or do you customize them?

    - Do you store the game clips on your console or on an external device? If on an external device, what kind of device is it and how is it connected to your console?

    - Have you tried any troubleshooting steps to fix the issue, such as clearing the cache, updating the console firmware, or reinstalling the games?



    So far, from the details you provided, you can try the following steps and let us know the result. You can just skip those you have done already.

    Solution 1: Power cycle

    If you're still having trouble using the Xbox capturing feature to record gameplay clips, power cycling your console may clear up the issue.

    How to restart or power cycle your Xbox console

    Solution 2: Make sure capturing is enabledTo make sure capturing is enabled on your console:

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    2. Select Profile & system > Settings > Preferences > Capture & share.
    3. Under Allow game captures, make sure that either Captures by me or Captures by me or games is selected.

    Solution 3: Use both of the previous solutionsThe following procedure has also been known to resolve the issue:

    1. Follow the steps in Solution 2 but set Allow game captures to Don’t capture.
    2. Power cycle your console.
    3. Follow the steps in Solution 2 and set Allow game captures to either Captures by me or Captures by me or games.

    Solution 4: Delete older clipsThe issue may be due to a lack of space in your cloud storage. You can upload up to 10 GB of captures to the Xbox network. Once you reach those limits, you’ll need to delete existing captures to upload new ones:

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    2. Go to Capture & share, and then select Recent captures > Show all.
    3. Select On the Xbox network in the first dropdown box.
    4. Select the clip you want to delete.
    5. Press the A button, and then select Delete.
    When you’ve maxed out your allotted storage capacity for game clip content, you’ll be notified with the message Delete some of your captures. To upload more, remove some captures from the Xbox network.

    When you’ve reached 90% or more of your allotted storage capacity for game clip content, you’ll see a message in the Manage captures screen. Follow these steps to see if you’re near your allotted capacity:

    1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    2. Go to Capture & share > Recent captures > Show all.
    3. If you’re near your allotted capacity for game clip content, you’ll see the message Your Xbox network storage is filling up. If you run out of space, delete some captures to upload more.
