Long time 360 user here. Got my son an Xbox One for Christmas and I was setting it up before he opens it.

First time I turned it on, I created him a Xbox account. With him being 7, everything became restricted and I could hardly find any game. I added my Live account after, and made him part of my family. However, I still do not have full access to the Market
logged in under my adult account.

So I started over, reset the One back to factory. This time I logged in with my Adult account first... downloaded several of the games he wants (Trials Fusion, Minecraft). Then I added his profile. I started each of the games, and granted him Adult permission
    to always play them.

HOWEVER, when I went to log back in with my Adult account to download another game... the Market is now restricted again. I've logged out and back in. I've checked all the Security and Privacy settings, and it all looks good.

    What gives??

    :)

    [Guide] Parental Controls

Parents are able to modify a child's account by changing their privacy settings. To do this the parent must sign into their Microsoft account. Once the parent has signed in. Click on the menu button on your controller and then click onto
    Settings.

Once you have clicked onto your settings , click onto
    Family.
Then select the child's profile. This will then show you the current restrictions of their profile.

You are able to make changes to the child's profile by using different default settings for the account. As Listed below. This will be found under "Privacy"

    - Child

    - Teen

    - Adult

    - Custom

Parents can also customize the default of the settings they have chosen.

Parents can also change the child's restrictions for the child's profile. By selecting
"Access to content". Here the adult will be able to change the restrictions for apps and games etc. You are also able to change the level of the restriction. For their profile.

Parents can also customize the child's web filtering. Under content restrictions.

    Thank you

    Kind Regards

    Louise

Account can't play games with other players

Hello, your brother might have a childrens account and there could be parental restrictions attached to the xbox. If he has created an account and put in a birthday that is younger than the adult age requirement for your particular region he might have been
associated with a child's account. Each child's account must be associated with an adult xbox account, my guess in this case the account is this WaitedGoblin3. Did your parents or someone else have access to the xbox options at any time and might have created
it (on purpose or by accident)?

Unless you are foolishly giving out your account information to others I doubt you have been hacked,.

Have you check you Privacy on your account yet? If not sometimes that can kick into play and it could do that to ya. to check it go to settings> Privacy & online safety. Make sure everything in there is good. And you can check your sons as well by going
to the right in settings and clicking on his name. Hopefully this works!

    Sincerely,

  5. I resolved the issue. It appears that Xbox One let's you do a 'quick switch' between accounts. I wasn't signing my childs account out, just switching over to mine, where everything was still showing restricted.

Once I signed out of his account, and signed mine in... I had full access.

Setting screen time for adults/parent accounts

It is my understanding that the child accounts I have setup for my kids will transfer to adult accounts when they turn 18. This means their achievements and games purchased with the child account will now be a normal adult account.

For example, I have XXX24 setup as the parent account with child accounts YYY24 and YYY25. When YYY24 turns 18 the account is now removed from being a child account attached to XXX24 and is now a standard account keeping the gamertag YYY24 and all achievements
and digital games purchased with that account. Someday when my kid "YYY24" has their own kids it will be a parent account with new child accounts under it.

The only difference between a Parent Account and a Child Account is that one resides under the other. With the right settings, a Child Account can have the same unrestricted access as the Parent Account. My oldest child does not have any restrictions on
their account so it really is similar to a standard account.

Cannot pre-order Destiny Rise of Iron on a teen account

If your account is a "child account", and is associated with a "parent/adult account", you may likely be restricted from making various purchases on the Xbox Store.

There also may be settings (that the parent/adult account may only modify) that can restrict the child account from accessing content based on the ESRB rating.

I'd check in with the owner of the parent/adult account to see if they can help you pre-order Rise of Iron.
