My child’s gamertag does not appear when searching the “Find someone” option

My kid was trying to add a friend but his friend request did not show. The friend then tried to add my child, but the gamertag did not show up in the search. I
was able to add my gamertag as a friend by going to the child profile and searching for my gamertag. I have even gone into both microsoft family and xbox account settings and reduced the limitations. What am I missing?

Confirming that my backup plan was a success! Still wish I could fix the issue though.

You should always be able to see the gamertag.

Exact spelling, spaces and caps are also important.

I am positive it was typed exact. I am not sure that does matter. On console, as I type letters close matches appear.

Oddly, when I was just in iOS Minecraft, the add friend search
does find the gamertag....Just doesn’t seem to work on the console and xbox web site.

this might be because its on a child setting? have you had the childs profile search your gt?

I appreciate the assistance, but have checked these privacy settings over more times than I can remember! I have added images of the Xbox One and Privacy tabs for one of the child account shown below just in case I am overlooking something.
