My child can't use PBSKids app properly

I have a 7-year-old child and I created him his own account on my XboxOne.

I installed the PBS Kids app and granted consent for him to run it.

However, when he runs the app and an adult isn't logged in, the functionality of the app is limited; it only shows one main 'window' of video, but the ability for the child to select a show has a "lock" icon on it.

How can I allow my 7-year-old with a Child Account to fully use the PBS Kids app, without a parental account being logged in to the console? I am not concerned about it containing anything dangerous.

Is this a problem with the way the app was developed, or is it something that can be adjusted with Xbox security settings?

    Thanks!

    :)

Nope. We just settled on him using apps like this when his account is logged out and I'm logged in. An imperfect solution but it's on the trust system.

This may be the only solution possible, as it requires a adult account to use things like skype and upload studio - Apps also may require the adult account because of the fact that you may be able to purchase content, and a child account would be restricted
from making purchases. Remember, if you make a child account, and you make the decision to use the child's REAL age, you would then LOCK that account as a child account until the Child turns 18, and then use his/her preferred payment method to "graduate"
it to adult status. This can LOCK certain apps, making them unusable for the child's minority, even if an app would be considered harmless.

In 99% of most situations, I would be more inclined to use the "TRUST" system too, as Microsoft is not the real judge of what a child should be able to handle - The PARENT is, and sometimes Microsoft uses the law to protect themselves, but the idea is that
some children are responsible enough to be able to use apps under parental supervision.

    PBS KIDS APP

    Hello,

Sorry to hear the app was removed or inaccessible. One other option you can do is open the Edge App & open the PBSKids website and watch it from their website. I think they stream LiveTV on their site.

    Hopefully this helps.
