My Child Cannot Receive Invites In Multiple Games, Regardless Of Settings

    BACKSTORY

My daughter and I encountered this issue with Minecraft; back in 2017 I think? We contacted support and were not able to resolve the problem for years. Then Stadia came out in November 2019, we tried it, loved it, and in January 2020 switched to it without ever looking back. We sold all our Xbox's(3 of them), games, and accessories.

Stadia is now shutting down in January 2023, so for this Christmas, I bought each of us an Xbox Series S, three years of Xbox Live, games, and accessories; spending over $1500. Since it had been over two years since we had been on Xbox, we had forgotten all the issues we previously had that went unresolved. Honestly, now I sorta regret it with it being more so with every passing day.

    THE PROBLEM

The problem is my daughter cannot receive in-game invites, nor does Xbox platform invites work fully.

The two games we have tried recently on Xbox Series S is: Dead By Daylight, and Destiny 2.

In Dead By Daylight, when my daughter sends me an in-game invite, I receive it, accept it, and join her in the Survivor Lobby. However, on her screen, it shows that I never joined. Vice Versa is also true. Doing an Xbox platform invite yields the same results.

In Destiny 2, when my daughter sends me an in-game invite, I receive it, accept it, then get an error saying "failed to join the player". However, when I try to send her an in-game invite, it gives the error: "The user cannot receive invitations due to platform privacy settings".

WHAT WE TRIED RECENTLY WITH CHAT SUPPORT

I contacted support via website chat and spent over two hours trouble-shooting. Here is a summary of what we tried:

Downloaded and installed Xbox Family App. Signed in, clicked on my daughters account, changed all settings to "Block", saved, then changed all settings to "Allow" and "Everyone", removed all age restrictions and saved.

Signed into the website where the exact same settings existed and repeated what I did on the app.

Signed out of my Xbox, shut down Xbox, turned on Xbox, signed in, went to "settings family settings > daughter's account > privacy", changed everything to "Block", signed out of Xbox, shut down Xbox for two minutes, turned on Xbox, signed in, went back into settings and switched everything to "Unfiltered".

We did a reputation check by visiting a URL(I forgot the address).

All the while my daughter and I are on each of our Xbox's, signing out, shutting down for two minutes, turning it back on, signing in, and booting up the game to test after every single step or change, to ANY setting.

Downloaded the Xbox Support App on Xbox, and submitted a report as suggested by the support specialist. It has been 4 days with no response.

    WHY THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING

The amount of time and money I have sunk into this, both now, and years ago, is too much. It makes me want to throw your **** into the street, smash it, film me doing it, upload it to YouTube, and create an anti-microsoft blog. NOTE: I have years old unresolved issues with other Microsoft products as well.

However, I doubt I'd ever do all that. How you feel and what you do, are two different things.

I have had my Xbox Live Account since the beginning, over 20 years ago. My daughter's account is over 10 years old, give or take. I really don't want to give up these accounts. We just want to play games together, why can't we do that?

    WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS

At this point, what are my options? Does ANYONE have any suggestions on how to fix this?

    :)

    This account is not permitted

it is because you are a child account

regardless of the parental settings betas trailers and demos are considered advertising meaning you cannot legally play or view m rated content or rp
  5. ngocphi Win User

Cant download rated m content even though I have an adult account and no family or parental settings

well regardless of what your current windows live id 's age is once set a age of an account cannot be changed

even by changing the windows live id

    goto my settings

    console settings

    family settings

if there is family settings there then you have a child account

goto manage my account on the xbox and see if promote child account is there

if you are under a family plan you need to create a differnet account for mrated demos

My child cannot accept game invites.

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

If I may ask, is she getting an error whenever she's trying to accept a game or part invite? If yes, can I have the error, please?
