    My Blu-Ray player isn't working, and hasn't been for weeks.


    It has been weeks since my blu-ray player has been operational in my brand new xbox one s. I bought the console as a media device to play and stream movies in early August, and for nearly a month I have been getting nothing but an error code: 0x80070490.
    I have scoured the internet looking for help and called xbox support, but nothing has changed and it still has yet to work. The response from tech support is "Give us some time to work on it" and "Yeah, that has been a problem for others as well," my question
    is how can I FIX this and/or WHEN will it be fixed?

    Did Halo Break My Xbox?

    i'm pretty sure that the halo install wrecked my blu ray playing capability. hasn't been able to play blu ray since I installed it

    HD DVD Drive - Will it ever work for XBONE S or X?

    The HD DVD player was released for the Xbox 360 during the middle of the "format wars" between HD DVD and Blu-Ray, and Blu-Ray was the ultimate victor.





    If you want to continue using that player, you'll have to hook it up to another working Xbox 360 console.

    There are no plans or announcements to add support for the HD DVD player on the Xbox One. There hasn't been a movie released on HD DVD since 2008, and you can get the same movies on Blu-Ray or streamed online anyway.

    While I saw a 3D option for a brief second in the Blu-ray settings panel, it disappeared. The Blu-ray player hasn't been updated yet to support 3D. I tested with a 3D disc and got the normal error message, then deleted the player and reinstalled it. The
    app creation date is still showing as November, 2013. They've stated an updated Blu-ray app is coming later in the preview.
