My audio is all static, and I know for a fact it's because of the xbox game bar [PC]

Every time I launch an xbox game, my audio becomes static, not only the game, but also the twitch stream. So every audio is affected. The way I got this error, is that one day I joined a party chat with xbox gamebar, and the static started and everytime I launch an xbox game that happens. When I close the game, the audio comes back to normal. My audio settings are normal (It's my microphone for the input, headphones for output, the correct communications device). Please help me in fixing the audio, thank you.

    :)

We will first do our research so we can give you concrete answers about what is causing the problem.

However, we’d like to know more about it in details so that we can provide a more accurate resolution for you. To start, please provide us information/answer on the following questions:

    • Current version and edition of Windows Installed? (Search for WINVER in Windows search to see this)
    • Xbox app and Gaming services version?
      • Xbox app > select Profile picture > Settings > About.
    • What troubleshooting steps have you done?
    • Was this working before?
    • Recent activity or changes made before the issue appeared?

So far, from the details you provided, you can try the following steps and let us know the result. You can just skip those you have done already.

If you’re experiencing issues using Xbox Game Bar on your Windows device, make sure that you have the latest version of Windows and that all your Windows updates are complete. If you’re experiencing issues with your shortcuts not working, check for updates and ensure that you’re using the latest version of Xbox Game Bar.

Troubleshoot Xbox Game Bar on Windows | Xbox Support

Check that your audio device is compatible with your PC, then connect it and make sure Xbox Game Bar recognizes it. Press Windows logo key + G to open Game Bar, select Settings > Party chat, and then look for your device in the Input or Output selection boxes.

Windows Xbox app, I sound like a robot underwater to my friends in party chat

    Hi Sketchyblue,

Thanks for reaching out to the forums! Have you attempted to reset the audio settings in Discord as well as you Windows recording settings?
Look at my previous findings. I too have two different audio interfaces that both make this underwater robot sound, and I can't change their input formats to anything other than "2 Channels, 24 Bit, 44100 Hz (Studio Quality)". All of my USB mics sound just find when using the XBox Game Bar party chat, and their Input Format is "1 Channels, 16 Bit, 4800Hz (DVD Quality)".

I'm starting to wonder if it's not so much the Hz rate but perhaps it has to do with the fact it's input is "2 Channel" vs. "1 Channel"? Who knows, all I know is that using the same device that sounds like **** on the Xbox Game Bar party chat, on something like Discord or even recording music with other various types of software in my PC, it sounds just fine. This is 100% something to do with the Xbox PC Software.
