My account is adult but my Xbox thinks I’m a kid

When I got my account, the age applied was 22. I made it 7 or 8 years ago for xbox live on the 360. Late 2014 is when i got my one with my account transfered and bug free. Up untill recnetly, my xbox treated me as an adult and gave me permisions to do
things such as have and see custom profile pictures. I dont know what caused it or how to fix it. I have already tried taking the account off and reputting it on, hard resetting, and cache wiping but nothing worked exept for the fact that after the cashe wipe
i can now see other player’s custom pic. On any other microsoft web page it says that the account is adult but on smartglass and the console, it acts like im 12 or something. Any way i can fix this iritating bug?

Hello Kingsman,

We understand that you're experiencing an issue concerning the account in use appearing as a child account on console, as well as on mobile.

The reason for either is that it may not be recognizing updated data for either console or on mobile.

For the console, would this happen to be on an Xbox One console? If so, fully recommend following the steps within how
to add or remove a Microsoft account on Xbox One.

I have access to my privacy settings and my microsoft account is adult with all access over everything. Only the xbox account is restricted. for a very small amount of time i even had an adult xbox account but after just 1-2 minutes that dissappeared and it was a kid account again

he will have to start over with a new account, leave your account on the xbox as the home console and he can access the games still.

alot of people fall into this situation yet a child account can be made for them from as early as 2 as my kids all have there own accounts under the adult account. these can then upgrade to adult account when 18, one of my kids reach 18 and upgraded.

How can I fix this?

Please create a separate account for each of your kids and do NOT let them play on your (adult) account.

First of all, this leads to problems, when the kids get older and want to keep their progress when they want an account for their own, and secondly, the kids are regarded as adults if they play under your account, which means, they can buy stuff in your
name, they can talk to strangers on the internet, and can play games unsuitable for their age.

Also, as the others already mentioned: A person playing as a guest can't save their game progress.

So please, do your kids a favor, and create a free account for each of your kids, then add their accounts to your adult account under
https://account.microsoft.com/family

That way, you have control over what your kids are (not) allowed to do on the console. As an adult (using your account), the kids can't be restricted.
