    My account got hacked, I managed to recover the password and I activated the 2 factor autentication, but now I can't change the email back to my regular one. Anybody knows how can I do it? I hope that now with the 2FA the hacker can't log in anymore but I would like to also have back my email.

    Hello, I tried doing that, but the problem is that if I go in the security page of my account I get redirected to a page saying that I have to wait for 1 month to access the site, so I can't change the email back.

    How great that you managed to recover the MSA again, usually when the alias is removed, not being Microsoft domains, it becomes available again. See what the article below says:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/add-...

    In Remove an email address it says:

    If you remove an email address from a non-Microsoft domain (like @gmail.com), then it usually becomes immediately available to be added as an alias on another Microsoft account.

    Then go to https://account.live.com/names/manage;

    Click on Add Email and enter your @gmail.com account;

    If so, just make it the default alias.

    So, can you add it again? If not, what message did you get when trying to add it?

    hello, my email was @gmail and yesterday I recieved an email from microsoft team saying that a new mail was added to my account, then my cellphone and my email were removed. I used the tool to recover my password and then I changed the password. I also activated the 2fa with my cellphone number in order to avoid the Hacker getting back into my account. Now I just want to put back my normal email in my account and remove the one from the hacker.

    I'm sorry you're having this issue and I'll do my best to help, as I understand your concerns about the privacy of your account and how annoying it can be to not be able to access it. Situations in which our e-mail account with personal information, contacts, messages and even our documents are really involved are a little more delicate.

    In order for me to help you, I need some information:

    When you say you want to get back to the email, did the hacker change your account alias?

    For example, formerly your email was teste@hot...., after being hacked, it became hackeado@hot....? Please, for your safety, do not send your e-mail, as it is sensitive data and cannot be shared.

    If that's the problem, did your MSA have the domain @hotmail.com, @msn.com, @outlook.com or @outlook.com.br?

    When trying to login with your old MSA at www.outlook.com, it says that it does not exist?

    Hello Emiliano, I hope you are well! :)

    When changing account security information without confirming identity, it is normal for the system to only release it after 30 days, this is a security method.

    This time and protection is necessary (by design), so that the account owner can recover it in cases of hacking. The big problem is that you didn't keep the security information up to date in your account, if you had, you would be able to send the code, receive it and confirm it. Everything would be resolved in a matter of seconds or minutes.

    You will have to wait for the new security option to take effect on 05/12/2023 and after that, try the steps I recommended.

    But rest assured, the most important thing is that you managed to undo the hacking change. In a month you will be able to complete the procedures I recommended.

    Concerns: I believe that the hacker does not have access to the security information registered in his account, if he does, he will be able to undo the change he made. I recommend that you carefully monitor the access to your account.

    Very valuable tip: after 05/12/2023 add more than two security information, it is very important to keep it up to date. Myself, in my account, I have 3 alternate emails, authenticator app and recovery key.
