My account gamer tag

My account gamer tag has been reported as offensive because my boyfriend upset a player and he reported me. My gamer tag was not offensive as it was about myself and no other players and I believe it should not of been changed, but it has and now I have
to pay seven pounds to change it which I also think is wrong as it is not my fault that I have to change my gametag. I would appreciate it if my gamer tag could be changed back please.

So, how many of you are 10 year Xbox Live gamers?

I started with the xboxlive beta with the headset and MotoGP disk, but I currently have a new different gamer tag due to my associated Hotmail account going inactive, due to not logging into email, and thus preventing me from renewing the live account. I had to create a new account while I went through the steps of recovery for the Hotmail address. Once recovered, I simply stayed with my new gamer tag... Now associated with the old Hotmail account. :-(

Can you please tell me what my sons account was banned for specifically and the date that the offense occurred.

sorry once a tag is reset for being against the rules there is no way to get it back and yes you will have to pay to get a different one. in the past if your tag was against the rules the system would not let you back in unless you changed your tag to something
appropriate but too many people were abusing that free change by creating tags just as bad so now they auto generate a tag that you have to pay to change it to something else.

 

But it wasn't against the rules that is my argument and I've been given a silly name that doesn't even suit a woman, my gamer tag was not against rules and should not of been changed the person from Xbox who I spoke to said that this can be fixed and I am
not happy that my tag has been changed

The only people who can address a post like this would be the Enforcement Team. You'll need to make this post over in the Xbox 360 Enforcement Forums so they can read it and get back to you. The Enforcement Team doesn't monitor this particular forum, so they
won't see your post here.

 

The gamertag was against the Code of Conduct whether you think it was or not. The new policy is you're given a random gamertag upon receiving a Forced Name Change. You will need to pay if you'd like to choose a new one. This will not be reversed.

 

it is real simple they do not change tags unless they were against the rules, yours was, it was changed, you have to pay to change it to something else.

The Enforcement team checks before they issue the FNC. It was deemed offensive in some way. You will not get it back and will have to pay for a new name.

 

yup you can get it changed just you have to choose a different name and pay for it so yeah you can get it changed he he.

 

So my gamer tag was changed today without any warning and now I must pay $10 to change it? The support guy I spoke with referred me to ambassador s saying they could inform me about this forced change. Seems like extortion to demand $10 without any notice
. I will change but don't understand how this can be forced on me with no warning.

 

first do not thread jack another users thread, second you did get a warning it is the code of conduct that you agree to when you set up your account it tells you what you can and cannot have on your account (bio/tag etc). and the 10 dollar change is now
because of people in the past that would get free name changes and would just create another name just as bad. so now the PET (those that enforce accounts) give you a random tag that you have to pay to change it to something else sorry.

 

LovelyWhelp, It is not extortion. You should've known better before using an offensive gamertag. That is the punishment for getting in trouble.
