    Earlier this week I was suddenly unable to talk in party chat. I could still hear people through my mic though, just couldn't talk. I assumed my generic wired One headset was broken so I went out and purchased a replacement. Strange thing is, the exact same
    thing occurred even with a fresh mic. It wasn't completely unresponsive as I was able to talk on and off for a while by wiggling the part of the mic which connects into the controller. Eventually that gave out and I assumed my problem was the controller port
    which the mic plugs into.

    So I swapped out my controller, experienced some good success being able to talk in parties again, and then eventually went right back to where I began. Not being able to talk, only hear, with a fresh mic and fresh controller.

    My privacy settings are appropriate, the mute light is clearly not on, both mics were firmly plugged into the controller, and my connection is fine. Yet I still get nothing.

    Someone told me a solution that worked for them was going to settings and assigning the controller to their GT. Tried that and was talking for 30 seconds before it died on me again and I could only hear not talk.

    What gives? I've never experienced anything like this and I extremely doubt that both the new mic and new controller are the issue. They've shown they can partially work.

    Xbox One Mic

    My mic is on and I can hear perfectly fine but when I talk it doesn't go through, I tried everything from turning on/off party chat, mute/unmute, unplug/plugin mic, turn mic on/off I don't know if it's my controller or my mic that's broken and I don't want
    to have to buy a new controller and find out the mic still isn't working and vice versa

    Can hear others but mic is not working

    so same issue as years ago. I can hear everyone in game and party chat fine. However, my mic is not working. I even bought a new headset today and it is not working either on my new controller. Tried old controllers and nothing. Please help

    of sad because people say "xbox live is a terrible place outside of party chat", but the only way they can make it better is to leave party chat and become the solution to the problem.

    I mean, you don't always have to be in game chat. But I make sure that when I am in party chat and I see someone talking, I switch to game chat to see if they're worth talking to. If they're not, I go back to party chat. If they are, I usually make a new friend.

    Astro a50 headset gen3 mic not working on xbox one x after April update.

    So my headset was working until i did a hard restart on my xbox. Tried everything to fix it the mic wont work in party chat its muted and the symbol shows up. Tried hard reset on xbox and the headset itself. Ive tried adding a new account on xbox
    live so i can try and assign the headset to the new profile. Tried switching the console and computer switch back and forth on the base station still no luck. Is there a way to down grade my xbox to previous update.

    Mic not working in Fortnite - Xbox one.

    Default setting is party chat. I have followed advice to switch settings from open mic/party chat to push to talk/game chat. I tried this several times, saving settings then exiting game, reloading game and switching settings back to open mic/party chat.
    Nothing has been successful.

    I wish there was more communication between team mates!

    Nevermind just Call of Duty... the Party Chat system has basically killed communication between random players across all games and you can't often meet new people/make new friends simply by talking.

    Party Chat isn't bad, exactly, but.... yeah :S
