    My 8TB Game Drive Hub Locks The Xbox1 System


    So, I can leave my system on or off, doesn't matter, first, the drive turns itself on every morning and stays on for up to 8hrs before turning off. Nothing is downloading, nothing is updating, it seems like it is searching for errors, defragmenting or some other Microsoft Windows type of thing.

    Second, after 72 hours of the Xbox One being plugged in, doesn't matter if the system is on or off, the Game Drive Hub turns the Xbox One off and will NOT allow it to come back on whatsoever until you have unplugged the USB plug for the Drive from the system for 5 seconds. Unplugging the system altogether also works. This is a MAJOR flaw in the design of the Game Drive Hub.

    External drives for the XBox One X

    the 8TB Game Drive Hub made by Seagate works really well, but if you can find an SSD External drive it would be better but it will cost more. The Seagate I referred to is HDD but it works fine.

    Was it purchased new? If so, I'd be inclined to return it!

    YES.

    Yes. New from Walmart electronics.

    They only had one so no exchange is possible..

    I think there's two hdd in the device and one has failed the Long Generic test using seagate tool for windows (drives).

    See i was thinking the hard drive could be the problem because i was using a different one before this that was also wall powered and had 0 issues.

    I currently have the 8TB Xbox Game Hub but thinking if switching to the 4TB USB powered Game Hub instead.

    Minecraft's looking good too, even though i corrupted the worlds after i had reformatted the 8TB hub drive it was on. Forza Horizon 4's next.
