My 5GHz Wi-Fi network won't appear as an option on my Xbox Series X

Would you please try to change your network name to see if it appears?

Also, would you please use your mobile phone connected to your 5G wireless network as a hotspot and see if your console finds it?

I tried changing the SSID to no avail. The console does find my phone’s hotspot no problem, but I don’t see how it relates to this issue; I’m pretty sure my iPhone broadcasts a 2.4 GHz hotspot either way.

Thanks for testing it. Usually if your phone is capable to connect to a 5G connection it will broadcast a 5G connection too. But let's try to power reset your console:

1​​. Turn off your console and your router/modem.

2. Unplug all the cables from both devices (power, HDMI, etc..) and wait 2 minutes.

3. After 2 minutes, plug all the cables in again on your router/modem and wait for all the lights to show up.

​​​4. Plug all the cables on your console and turn it on.

If the issue persists, please try to factory reset your console:

Press the Xbox button > Settings > System > Console info > Reset this xbox > Reset and keep my games and apps.

Note: the "Reset and keep my games and apps" option will not make you lose your games, but you will need to sign in to your account again.
