  1. My 5GHz Wi-Fi network won't appear as an option on my Xbox Series X

No matter what I try, my 5GHz Wi-Fi network isn't listed when searching for networks on my Xbox Series X. My PS4 Pro, iPhone, LG OLED TV and other devices can find it just fine. It won't even connect if I try to input the SSID manually. That makes my Xbox limited to slow 2.4GHz speeds, and unreliable for cloud gaming. What can I do to change this? A neighbor's 5GHz Wi-Fi does appear on the list from time to time, but mine, broadcasted by a modern TP-Link Archer AX10 router pretty close to the console can't be found.

edit: I tried to plug in my Xbox Series S, and it found the network no problem! Only my Series X has this issue

    :)

Tried both, no luck, and lost my quick resume queue doing so (understandably, but still) 😞

Hello, GuilhermeWolfe. Thanks for reaching out! My name is Lucas, and I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user just like you. I'll be happy to assist you today.

Would you please try to change your network name to see if it appears?

Also, would you please use your mobile phone connected to your 5G wireless network as a hotspot and see if your console finds it?

    Waiting for your kind reply.

I tried changing the SSID to no avail. The console does find my phone’s hotspot no problem, but I don’t see how it relates to this issue; I’m pretty sure my iPhone broadcasts a 2.4 GHz hotspot either way.

Thanks for testing it. Usually if your phone is capable to connect to a 5G connection it will broadcast a 5G connection too. But let's try to power reset your console:

    1. Turn off your console and your router/modem.

    2. Unplug all the cables from both devices (power, HDMI, etc..) and wait 2 minutes.

    3. After 2 minutes, plug all the cables in again on your router/modem and wait for all the lights to show up.

    4. Plug all the cables on your console and turn it on.

If the issue persists, please try to factory reset your console:

Press the Xbox button > Settings > System > Console info > Reset this xbox > Reset and keep my games and apps.

Note: the "Reset and keep my games and apps" option will not make you lose your games, but you will need to sign in to your account again.

Please let me know how it goes.

My xbox series x can not connect to 5g wifi i share my mobile hotspot in 5g it does not appear in the connection list but if i chgane it to 2.4g it will show and connect normaly

Hi SnFoR E, my name is Adam.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble connecting your Xbox Series X to a 5GHz Wi-Fi network. Based on the information you provided, this could be due to a number of reasons, such as network interference, outdated firmware, or incorrect security settings.

Try resetting your network settings on the Xbox Series X. Here’s how you can do it:

    1. Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.

    2. Go to Profile & system > Settings > General > Network settings.

    3. Select Advanced settings > Alternate MAC address > Clear.

    4. Restart your Xbox Series X and try connecting to the 5GHz network again.

If this doesn’t work, you can try the following steps:

    1. Check if your router firmware is up to date. If not, update it to the latest version.

    2. Make sure that your router is broadcasting the 5GHz network and that it is not hidden.

    3. Try changing the security settings on your router to WPA2-PSK (AES) and see if that helps.

    4. Move your Xbox Series X closer to your router to reduce any potential interference.

I hope this helps you get your Xbox Series X connected to your 5GHz Wi-Fi network.

Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns!
    Adam.
