My 4k TV is getting a black flickering screen when i choose the 4K UHD display one the Xbox ...

That's the issue right there, Prezdead! My TV auto detects the resolution being put out by the source and sets it accordingly. There is no way to set my TV's HDMI input to display a certain resolution regardless of what the source is putting out. My Android
box and Roku 4 put out a 4k signal when I enable the resolution they should output is 4k. Unfortunately, The XBOX One S doesn't seem to do that.

When I do the video test on the XBOX One. My TV doesn't even flicker. It just pops up that it failed everything, which is incorrect. If I change the resolution on the XBOX One S to 720p, then it flickers and my TV changes the display to 720p. If I change
the XBOX One S to display 1080p, then the TV flickers and changes the resolution to 1080p. If I try to change the XBOX One S to display UHD, it does nothing other than go instantly to the failed screen, which states none of the options are supported. Under
Advanced Video Settings though, I have 24Hz, 50Hz, and UHD 4k checked. the problem is, the XBOX One S is putting out the 4k signal because the test says the TV fails everything and the TV will not disaply in 4k until the TV receives a signal from the XBOX
One S to display in 4k.

I also have the same issue. I have an LG 65UB9500. HDMI port 3 is the 10-bit port to which I have the Xbox1S attached using an Aurum HiSpeed HDMI (Mfr 330531). When this port for deep color is enabled, the Xbox detects that I can display 24hz, 4K @60Hz
10bit, but not 50hz although this TV is rated for it. If I set the Xbox to 4K UHD, then I get flickering. If I turn off deep color setting on TV, then I can sermon the Xbox to 4K UHD although all the details in the 4K detail are screen says that nothing is
compatible anymore. Have there been any updates from Microsoft or LG regarding the matter? And what are my options going forward, in the short term?

I have seen forum posts for people saying they experienced flickering blue or black screens in game and that changing the in game resolution helped fix it. They were using UHD Tv's and turning the resolution down to 720p in game worked.

Since I have a 4k tv, I had my Xbox's display settings set to 4k. I had a go at changing this to see waht happened. 720p output worked, and I was able to play Minecraft for a few minutes without experiencing the issue. However, I noticed that the sides of
the display were cut off. Changing to 1080p solved this issue, and I was able to play again with no issues. I changed back to 4k to test again, and had the black screen appear almost immediately.

I'm glad I can at least get the game to work now, but it is a shame that I can't play it in 4k. Oh well.

Yes, i verified my ARC port on the tv supports all 4k/UHD functions @60hz. My XBOX recognizes (with the hdmi smart function) the tv as 4k capable @60hz, and allows me to check the “allow 4k” option. But if I try to change the resolution on the xbox from
1080 to 4k UHD, it’s a blank screen for a moment then states that the setting is not possible. I’ll try to get some screen shots of what I’m getting and what settings im currently on. If my 4k allow button is on, but my redolution is set @ 1080, when i insert
a 4k disc (movie) will it still play in 4k, just not UHD?

I have a TV Hisense also. A 65" 4k TV that I can't set to 4k in the TV Resolution options on my XBOX One S 500GB model, which does show UHD 4k as an option but gives me the same error when selecting. In the Advanced Video Settings, I can select: Allow
24Hz, Allow 50Hz, and Allow 4k. I have tried running YouTube but it only displays in 1080p. I unfortunately don't have a 4k Blu-Ray disc to test with either.

Is this caused by TV's that automatically detect and display the detected resolution? I have the same issue with a 4k Android box but switching the input to HDMI 2 and back to HDMI 1 gets it to display properly in 3840X2160. This can't do that with the
XBOX One S though because I can't set the TV Resolution to UHD. If Microsoft could implement the ability to select the UHD setting and leave it enabled for 15 seconds or so before timing out on a confirmation, I could toggle the input on the remote to get
the TV to redetect the displaying resolution from the XBOX One S.
