My 4K HDR Movie doesn't work!

I have Deadpool on 4K Blu Ray and everytime I turn on HDR and watch the movie I only get sound and a black screen. I have a Vizio P series TV btw and yes I have HDMI Color Sub Sampling on. Movies works fine if I turn off HDR on the Xbox.

Xbox One S Hook up to 4K LG TV issues

The problem I'm having is my xbox one S is not recognizing HDR on my TV. 10 bit color shows up, along with 4K resolution at 2160p, but no HDR for movies or games. It says here on xbox.com that different names for HDR are HDR Premium, High Dynamic Range,
HDR, UHD Color, Ultra HD Premium, Ultra HD deep color. My LG has UHD Deep Color, so why the heck doesn't it work? any one have any idea?

4k movie

When playing a 4k blu-ray, my xbox one x is dropping to 1080 p. I can game at 4k without problem. My TV is 4k but does not have HDR. How can I get my movies to play at the full 4k resolution.

TV is Samsung uhd8550 4k without hdr

I'm not support here, but have you update your p-series vizio? The HDR10 update for them just came out on August 10th.

Do you have the high tier Netflix? If you do, try loading that up and playing an HDR title (i think the do-over and rediculous six are both HDR). This wont solve any problems, but it would at least help pinpoint if it's a UHD Disc/Blu Ray app specific thing
or a whole system-wide thing.

I think it's safe to say it's the Blu Ray app at this point, or drive firmware, or both.

Hey there mind if i jump in here!

As i am aware not all HDR / 4K supported movies work on the Xbox one S at the moment (Some bug out as you mentioned while others crash the Blu-ray app) first lets head over to the settings - Disc & Blu-ray - Blu-Ray - Persistent storage - Clear persistent
storage

As well double check if your settings are correct for full Blu-ray playback.

For me, it's not a "UHD" problem. I get Ultra HD resolution (4k), as well as 10 bit color, but I cannot get the xbox to recognize HDR for gaming or movies. Maybe my TV (LG 55UH8500) doesn't have HDR, but I would think with 10 bit color, and the UHD Deep
Color setting (on my hdmi 3 input only) that it would work on that input.

And when i‘m playing a 4k movie without hdr it‘s saying i should plugin a tv with hdr

Tryed all modes. the game mode with destiny 2 worked but it seems to me since there wasn’t a singel information from the tv „hdr on“ that there was no hdr. And with a 4k movie there are still the problems also with netflix when i want to watch something
with hdr.

I had the same / similar issue with my old 4K 60hz none HDR / HDMI 2.0 monitor when watching movies and some times in games with the Series X,

As soon as i upgraded my monitor to a 4K 144hz monitor that has HDR / HDMI 2.1 ports, i no longer had this problem,

I'm not sure what the problem is, but my guess is that the HDMI 2.1 port on Series X doesn't play well with HDMI 2.0 port of monitors, or it's the Series X trying to force HDR on, even if the monitor does not have / support HDR and the HDR in Series X menu's is turned off.

I like using my 65" Samsung 4K with HDR and my 50" Samsung 4K with HDR. I mainly play games on the 50" with my Xbox One X. More Netflix and movies on the 65" with my Xbox One S.
