    My 360 wouldn't install the update and now it won't detect my Harddrive


    Alright so it started out my 360 wouldn't install the new update so i reformatting my Xbox to make room for the update. The update still wouldn't install i was getting an error code 417400030800506D0000185, which isn't recognized as a code here on the website.
    So i tried downloading the update on a USB and using that to install the update. Now my Xbox won't detect my Hard drive at all, I tried removing the hard drive and putting it back in and still nothing. I cannot sign in, download my profile, or install the
    update, someone please help

    After July update can't detect externel harddrive.

    Checked for updates, ran through troubleshootng tips , hard reset console. Stil won't detect my Seagate 2t external harddrive, that i've been using for 4 years now. Every new update bring more problems that frustrate the console owners.

    The Ethernet Cable wouldn't be the issue here. The issue with this specific error code is that the XBOX 360 can't detect your storage device for your XBOX 360 to install the update.

    If you can't get it to install correctly with that hard drive, try to remove the hard drive and use a USB Flash Drive and configure that with your XBOX 360 and try to install the update then.

    Try using a flash drive to download the update. If it works then your hard drive is bad. If not, then you could have a bad network adapter which was my problem.

    Or you can connect the console to the internet, and the update will automatically updated.

    Also you will need an official xbox 360 harddrive to be able to run original xbox games.

    Any fake harddrives won't work

    Thank you for reply, after resetting my console I realized every game and app stored on my harddrive won't work and i can't install games on my harddrive but the issue seems to be my harddrive, which is a Xbox harddrive. Not sure if you guys can still
    help me or recommend who i can ask for help.
