My 360 "Burned" my game disc?

Ugh,

My Assassin's Creed Rogue game disc is in pristine condition, as are all my game, I look after them well.

I've already played the game, but today, I replay a certain part and after a couple of minutes, I noticed that the narrative & video were not keeping up. So I restart the particular sequence, and it's fine... then it's not... then I do the whole "restart
memory" thing again, it's a case of "Wash, Rinse, Repeat" and eventually the thing says "Disc unreadable."

When I took the disc out, I was astounded to see a perfect 1mm line all around the disc that my console seemingly "burned" in to it.

What is this sorcery? Why did my Xbox do this? Is it repairable? (and I have tried cleaning, it does not take that deep mark away.) I swear to God it looks exactly like the outer edge of any DVD or CD... but only a mm thick. And it's perfect, it's not even
closely resembling scratches.

What happened and can it b repaired? Because I think Xbox owes me a game otherwise.........................

:)

Problems with console
I've burned my third game
Burned how?
Both the original 360 and the 360 S have feet that allow them to be oriented horizontally or vertically.

Having said that, with rare exception I keep mine horizontal. Vertical's too easy to tip accidentally, even a small amount.
I have never used any extra cooling with any of
my consoles. The exhaust fans on both the original console and the 360 S have kept every generation of 360 I've owned cool enough on their own.

I will not be giving anymore of my $$$$ to Activision for any COD titles in the future. Kinda burned out on the franchise.

I am burned out also. I mean will plug MW3 in to play with friends but I will not throw* away money for ELITE or DLC anymore.

Unfortunately there's nothing you can do. The game probably needed a large amount of information in that 'ring', so the console kept reading it over, and over. Newer Xbox 360 games use a special DVD-DL format which makes everything as dense as possible to
fit as much information on a disc as possible. Unfortunately, your issue happens. The game tries to read from the same physical area and pretty much physically burns your disc layers into a crisp.

I would either:

Find someone with the game, and install it from their disc, and just use yours to boot the game up.

or

Call Xbox Support and explain the situation. They may, if they're nice, replace the disc for you.

or

Go back to where you bought it from. Although, if it's Gamestop, they're not going to care...like at all. They'll probably say something like 'well, you should have bought warranty! (Which actually only covers scratches and not cracks or any other physical
damage).

Yeah...wish you all the best. This is why I tend to install all my games :S

MW3 Unreadable disc

i found out that my disc had laser burn and thats why it wasnt reading properly. i went to gamestop today and fot a new copy and brought it home. i immediately started installing the game to my hard drive and now it works perfectly. (laser burn happens
when the xbox is pushed a tiny bit and disrupts the reading of the disc causing it to burn a barely visable line into the disc.) hope this helped thats my solution.

Windows 7 + Xbox 360 Driver not Working

If I can edit my posts, I don't know how, so yet another update-bump. I burned some songs I like onto a disc. It'll do for now but I really like the idea of being able to grab music straight from the computer, as opposed to burning a disc, so if someone
could tell me where to find the 360 driver for the 360 itself and not the controller, I'd appreciate it.

freezes

Bon3zz is 100% right, you should never stand up or move your 360 with a disc in, it will laser burn the disc, my gamestation calls it "stood up" its a fact

-

but in saying that i think the OP's ring on the disc is the natural one on the edge, there is a ring on the edge of all discs, it shimmers that is fine, alls dics have that, what we mean is a laser burn ring, which will 100% happen if you move your 360 while
the disc is spinning, lots of people stand up thier console and have never had a problem, but i say this, you will one day.
