    My 144hz monitor can’t display 1440p with 120hz on Xbox Series X

My monitor is Asus nitro VG272UPBMIIPX it is capable of 1440p gaming with 144hz but on Xbox it only allows me to play on 1080p with 120hz OR 1440p with 60fps. I have tried everything and don’t know whats wrong. First it didn’t even allow me to choose my refresh rate and for some reason showed me that my monitor supports 4k UHD even though it doesnt. Only after I switched my display Overrides from “Auto-detected” to “HDMI” I was able to choose refresh rate but when picking 1440p with 120hz the resolution automatically switches to 1080p. Why does that happen and how to fix it.

Please Help I just got that monitor

    :)

    Xbox Series X doesn't support 1440p@120Hz with 1440p@144Hz monitor

Until you don't proof me this specific monitor (Xiaomi Mi Curved 34) enables 1440p@120hz with Xbox Series X, your comment is meaningless.

Yeah, there are some monitors with 1440p@120hz support for Xbox series s/x, that simply doesn't mean that ANY 1440p+ monitor with 120hz+ (especially 144hz+) can do it. Period.

I've tried everything, that (1440p@120hz) simply doesn't work with that monitor. I've already listed every step I've tried, I'm not gonna write it again.

    : Xbox serie x 120 FPS TV Samsung 55TU8005

Oh okay, but i can’t turn 120 fps on a low résolution ? I Know we must to have 2.1 hdmi for 4k120fps, and my motion rate is 120 , its not good ? , so i cant have any 120 fps mode ? , i dont understand wy Samsung Bride this .thank for your repons
Motion rate doesn't make your TV 120hz,

Your TV is a 60hz display with a 120hz motion rate, motion rate is more for watching movies or fast action sports from my understanding, making fast running/moving images look smoother and less blurry,

I also have a 4K Samsung TV, which is a 60hz display that has a 120hz motion rate,

    It doesn't matter what resolution you choose 1080p / 4K, if it's a 60hz display, the most you'll get is 60 fps

The LG CX is the best TV for Series X at the moment or your going to be looking at a PC Gaming monitor where you can get 1080p 144hz / 1440p 144hz or 4K 144hz,

with 1080p and 1440p 144hz monitors you can get to play at 120hz which will get you to 120fps for games on Series X, 4K is more demanding and most games will be locked to 60 fps at 4K on Series X.

    Xbox series X - 1440p 144hz monitor

    Hi,

Do you have problems with getting your Xbox to use your display's 1440P resolution and 120Hz on this monitor?

Your monitor has a note in the manual that says:

    * When HDMI Compatibility Mode is on, 2560 x 1440 @ 120/144Hz resolution is not supported.

I would assume you should be able to get 120Hz at 1440P with this monitor connected to a Series X. But, as you've probably seen, the Xbox One can be really picky when it comes to monitors.

Monitor interest has gone up considerably since Microsoft released support for both 120Hz and FreeSync. The problem is getting a monitor that will use these features correctly over HDMI.

xbox one x wont run at 125hz unless at 1080p

    Hi,

The max refresh rate on One S and X is 120hz, but to get there you need a monitor or TV that supports it and supports it over HDMI. Some displays only support this over display port.

The S3220DGF doesn't support 120hz at all, only 60 and 144hz and the 144hz is only over Display port.

Best suggestions is find a monitor you like the look of and google its online manual PDF. You're looking for 120hz over HDMI. Remember that this is the
    vertical refresh rate.

Also be sure 1440P is 2560x1440 as this is a 1440P monitor, Xbox does not support ultra wide displays.

look at online reviews, manuals and YouTube vids of your display. Shouldn't go wrong with that.

Unable to 120Hz at 1440p Even Though Monitor Supports 144Hz at 1440p

It sounds like any monitor that uses non standard Vesa frequencies (144hz as opposed to 120hz) will not be able to effectively run at 120hz with 1440p on xbox one x.
