Mw3 Disc to HDD Issue?

My copy of Mw3 is scratched, and it doesnt let me get past the home screen. I borrowed my friends copy so I can install it onto my xbox, so I can still play it. My friends copy works completely fine, with no issues. I tried to install the first time, and
it stopped installing at 34%, with the ureadable disc error popping up. I tried it again, and same thing. Stopped installing at 34%. How do I fix this issue?

MW3 Keeps Freezing

Clear cache', download MW3 disc to your HDD, open NAT and forward ports if possible, dunno.

 

MW3 won't install

When I try to install MW3 to the HDD it installs but when I play from the HDD it plays from the disc. Just wondered if anyone else has this problem

 

Have you tried other discs other than Mw3? If the problem persists with other discs as well you may have an issue with your reading lenses and should ask for repairs:

There are some steps to determine whether its the disc drive or not here :

I find for discs that have some scratching but nothing too deep that an aerosol wood polish is very good. They are oil based and put a thin layer onto the disc filling the scratches. You wipe it with a very soft cloth then try it in the console. Has saved
many of my game discs and DVDs. In Australia we use Mr Sheen.

If you try to download multiple times it is not going to work.

I've had success with the following steps:

1. Clear Errors - go to the SETTINGS page which is far right of the home page. Select STORAGE then your main HARD DRIVE. Under GAMES & APPS look for any red or yellow icons with incomplete or unknown. Delete them.

2. Clear System Cache - SETTINGS page, select STORAGE and highlight a drive but don't select it. Press Y and select Clear System Cache. Agree when asked.

3. Be Patient - turn your console off for a full minute. This assists in resetting the console.
