Muting on COD( xbox one)

is there anyway u can mute the chat while playing this game, as my son is sometimes in the room and it can be offensive??

How to MUTE everybody

Muting on a player by player basis making playing online with kids in the room bad. Please add muting all.

 

MS was advertising feedback system!??!!? Why bother?

You have to mute while in game from "start" button. You cannot mute from the lobby (which really bums me out). But the best idea is to start a party and just stay in there even if it's just by yourself. That way you can't hear them.

I know it's pretty lame. It's the first thing I looked for when starting MP. Muting from the lobby is essential to me but I just have to mute all right away when I get into a game. Then it mutes them as long as you stay in the lobby.

 

Another option for you is to set as friends only. If you do this, the game mutes everyone else that isn't on your friends list unless you add them as a friend. The Party option works for Advanced warfare at the moment but certain game modes are likely to
get a party chat ban and you wouldn't be able to play those.

Another option is to get a set of headphones and play all sound through them. Then your son will not hear the lobby at all. Just a few thoughts to help you out. The headphone route is what I do so I can at least hear teammates if they are working toward
an objective.

 

Yeah just plug in the cheapo headset that came with the One and the in game chatters will just go through the headset. I would do that even if I wasn't wearing the headset if I happened to be playing when my boys were awake and in the room.
