    Muted Mic Fix! (For Wireless Headsets only, sorry)


    I've had that annoying "Mic with line through it" symbol and I have tried EVERYTHING. Powered down, restored Xbox, bought a new headset, bought a new controller, cleared the Mac Address...blah blah blah. Well something actually worked...Now remember, this
    is only for wireless headsets with the USB dongle. Ok...(You'll need a PC too)



    1) Unplug power cord from the back of your Xbox One.

    2)Plug the USB Dongle into your PC and power on your headphones.

    3)Get a paperclip or pin and on the side of the USB Dongle, where you pair your headset, use the paperclip and hold the button inside the dongle until the light goes off.

    4)Unplug USB Dongle and power down headset.

    5)Plug power cord back into Xbox and press power button on the front of the Xbox.

    6)Wait until your screen comes up, then plug USB Dongle into the front of the Xbox and power on your headset. (Should pair automatically)

    7) If you had my luck your will hear something through your headset, DO NOT FORGET to go to Xbox Accessories (Green block with joystick icon) and assign your headset to your screen name.

    I really hope this works for you, because I know I was going out of my mind!!!!! Peace

    Sorry to hear you are having a hard time trying to resolve your muted mic option. It looks like you'll have to wait for Microsoft to release a console or controller update to fix the issue.

    An alternative fix might be to get a Microsoft Chatpad or Headset adapter as the 3.5mm jacks in those don't appear to be having the same muted mic issue that the controllers are having.

    All who complains about the hissing noise every headset does that as in the regular wired mic just not as loud. Secondly the beeping noise when u put it on mute is to remind u that u have it on mute like any other Xbox wireless mic @_@

    I had the same problem. My mic was to close to my headset speaker. A quick fix is mute your mic when you're not talking, when you want to talk mute sound coming out of the headset speaker while you talk then immediately unmute sound to hear answer and

    Can you please check if the mic is detectable when you use Skype?

    What type of wireless headset is it?

    1.Check the latest firmware for your headset:

    Make sure your headset is updated with the latest firmware using the Xbox Accessories app. On Xbox X|S and Xbox One consoles, you can access the Accessories app in the Settings menu: Profile & system > Settings > Devices & connections > Accessories.

    2. Check if your mic is not muted:

    Check in headset settings that Auto-mute is not set to High

    3. Restart both the headset and your device.
