Music when we play games?

So the announced the whole media player thing. Are we going to be able to jam to music while we play? At the very least snap it and play it and unsnap it.

Was anything said about this?

yeah, Microsoft is very Apple when it comes to the Xbox, you have to have a music pass to play your own music, on the other hand, you get access to millions of songs when do buy it, which is not a bad deal, but then we have Live Gold, that should really
be enough!

I suggest forgetting about the Xbox music, use the system music player and if you cannot get music to show from your PC, just install the old Zune app and share your music through that, then the system player works like it used to.

 

No more custom soundtrack while playing games?

At least you can do that. When I snap Xbox Music is just says go find music to play.

I have a play list with music in it. It just doesn't appear in Xbox Music when I snap it.

 

We know we'll be able to stream music from other devices via the new media player that's coming, but how exactly that works is still uknown for the most part. You'll have to wait until they either announce more or until the update releases, whichever comes
1st.

 

Going by some people who posted in the preview program section who have the media player, as of right now, Music cannot be played in the background. In fact the Media app cannot even be snapped. Of course this is an early version of the app so hopefully
the final version will let us select music & then go to a game without the Music stopping.

So right now the media app preview will be good to watch video content but not so much for music multitasking.

 

Oh I mean its not the worst but I hope they really decide to let it be snapped and played in the background.

 

I love my Xbox one but

How about working the same way the 360 does .. having the ability to control the volume of the music separate from the game .. and having the option to unsnap it and not loose a quarter of my screen when listening to music....

I feel like the Xbox one took a step back with the lack of functionality ..

Hoping they fix this short coming in future updates .

 

Xbox 1's operating system is based off a Windows 8 UI. It has 3 OS, a windows kernel (that's where we get all this Windows 8 stuff), Xbox OS and a hypervisor which combines the OS. It's so big the system takes away over 100GB of Xbox 1's 500GB internal HDD.
Sure you can snap this and that, but it's going to give you bars at the top and bottom of the screen when you play games. Xbox 360's UI, well it doesn't do that. You can always play music off your phone or PC and settle for that. It's kind of sad and funny.
The Xbox 1's UI displays everything is squares or 4 by 4s too professionally. I think more people prefer the Xbox 360's current UI. One of my friends who's 13 said "this UI is too Windows 8".

 

i know you get this alot, and i mean a lot. but when are we getting background music instead of having to have it snapped. now before any neg comments hear me out. with NXOE the snap was on the right side, to begin with, not even a moth into testing the
swapped it back, so the coding cant be to hard. and when using apps like pandora for instance, it will be playing and once unsapped it is only muted not stopped
