    Will the Xbox One ever get the ability to play back our own music in the backgroung for games? Not in the snap feature streaming from my laptop. It pulls away from Forza 5.

    I think Xbox needs to add back the feature that allows us to upload music onto the hard drive or allows playback from an external hard drive. It also needs to allow background music play just like the Xbox 360. How can power change everything if you aren't
    making use of the power. I want to play hit games while playing music of my choice just like the Xbox 360. Lets urge Xbox to allow us to upload music to their hard drive or play music from our external hard drives with the ability to play music in the background
    like the Xbox 360. It's best for business and consumers just saying.

    That should have been a given. How is it that a next gen system can't do what a last gen system can? The ability to upload my own music to the hard drive was one of the first things that I checked for. Why should I have to be forced to listen to a games
    soundtrack that I might not like? I shouldn't to sacrifice one fourth of my screen in order to listen to MY music!

    Help??

    Try starting up music playback on your phone (Spotify app) and then open the Spotify for Xbox One app, and in the phone app click on "Devices available" and select your console. That should "send" the playback to your console and let you continue listening
    to music there.

    Let us know how you get on.

    What are you using HDMI in for?

    I have a WDTV aswell, love all the filetypes it can playback and can only dream they would open up the xbox to playback all filetypes. I like the chromecasts app support (like songza for example) and am using it as a substitute for the lack of music playback
    while gaming.

    Wait a second, I was able to stream music from my Windows 8 computer. Using Metro music app, my issue is not with xBox however, but the fact that music app doesn't support many popular music file formats. Other than that, what it can play, I can stream to
    xBox one end even control a playback from Smart Glass. it's not perfect, by any means, but it can be done.
