Murdered: Soul Suspect

I had a quick look on the forums for the soul suspect dedicated forum but I couldn't see one! Any way I haven't seen much hype about this game and wondered why!? I'm thoroughly enjoying it so far! Story is very intriguing
once you get into it. I reckon you'll be able to pick this up pretty cheap soon.. If you like a good story based detective game check it out!

Great game that once again highlights the unfortunate truth that self proclaimed 'professional review sites' wouldn't know a good game if you slapped them accross the face with one.

What's to poke fun at?

- The graphics are only very good instead of show stopping.

- Some dialogue repeats.

- If you hang about long enough you'll notice that some of the A.I. walk around in patterns like those other 'really bad games' "Splinter Cell" and "Dishonoured".

What's to enjoy?

- Playing as a ghost solving your own murder is a brilliant premise.

- Ghostly powers and abilities are well done.

- Tons to collect.

- Loads to explore.

- Genuinely creepy atmosphere.

- Pretty good story.

It's new, different and fun to play.

However as was pointed out by Metalgearfloppy in a previous "Murdered Soul Suspect" thread the fact that you can't call in an airstrike after 10 minutes does seem to have left some reviewers with a sour taste in their mouth.

A friend of mine had it on pre-order, then saw the reviews, balked and went and cancelled.

He stumbled accross a walkthrough video and started to watch that to see how bad it all actually was and was left kicking himself because he realised he'd been duped by the reviews.

He's got his copy now and is loving every minute of it.

 

No thanks, the game plays it's self and solves it's own puzzles.

 

Spoken like a guy who hasn't played the game.

It's a slower game than "COD" and that might annoy some people.

We're conditioned to expect things to happen fast and get what we think we want immediately.

Definately one to avoid if you only like moving your thumbs and don't care to be burdened with thought.

 

A lot of reviews have said there is no punishment for getting the answers wrong this was the problem I had with LA Noire.

I don't play COD and I have played this, it's crap and plays it's self there is no thought involved, it's perfect for somebody who constantly promotes crap games as some sort of joke hoping to get people to waste their money.

 

Its a decent game in my opinion. I went into it without reading anything about it and was really plesently suprised

 

In fairness to Az on this one, a fair few forum regulars have said its a decent game.

 

When you go around accusing everyone who doesnt agree with you a cod fanboy that is exactly the type of answer you should expect

How did you jump to such an incorrect conclusion?

How are we supposed to trust your thoughts on "Murdered Soul Suspect" if you jump to strange conclusions like that?

Any game I enjoy I'm able to say why.

How far did you get Gary?

It's pretty clear most reviewers didn't get very far.

From the reviews I was worried when I possessed my first cat... and all I was really able to do was plod about and hit the "Meow" button.

If I stopped playing there then yeah, the game would seem pretty poor, but your skils and abilites evolve over time and you can even do more with a cat than "meow".

As for BS if you get stuff wrong then you don't get the full badges for the investigation.

You have to find all the clues first but you can get away with missing a couple and you can proceed if you get things wrong. You just don't get full credit and badges.

 

Thats how it comes across, evidently by Gary MOTS response he thought so aswell.

Anywayz thanks for the info AZ, it does look a good game, but so did LA Noire until you couldnt fail. At least if you get something wrog in this game it seems as though you will need to go back to get 100%

 

I have been looking to pick this up and the comments on here so far are mixed, however i have just checked Metacritic, for scores comparison, and even though i dont trust reviews, i was gob smacked to see how low the reviews are, and even more so to see
the difference in review score between X1 and ps4, ps4 coming out considerably better, does anyone know why this is, ha the ps verion got something the X1 does not, i am hoping for sensible responses here, i have both machines and like to buy the best version
of any game regardless of format, with that in mind no silly fanboyisms please, it really is not necessary, and i am simply looking for people who own either copy that may know the differences.

 

If (going by comments in this thread) this isn't the sort of games COD fans play then I would assume that is why the scores are higher for ps4. A lot of the COD crowd went x1 because of Titanfall.

If it is constantly getting bad scores then wait a few months if unsure. With all the top games coming out for both systems this should soon drop in price even tho £35 isn't that much or a new release. Im guna wait until its between £15-20.
