Murdered Soul Suspect

I was walking around and possessed a cat.

I had a button to "meow".

The novelty was quite cool but it did seem a bit limited.

However as the game progresses you find out that there are more things do do with... or rather as... a cat than just meow.

I wonder how many "professional reviewers" actually got this far because it's pretty cleverly done.

 

Not many... they were probably too busy wondering why they weren't getting XP for anything or why they couldn't call in an airstrike....

 

They were probably also confused as to why they were being forced to read words and use their brains in more than 10 second bursts....

 

You know another criticism seems to be that when it comes to the Investigations they believe that the "correct answers" are subjective and a bit "up in the air" at times.

I thought I knew what they meant when i did one but then I realised I simply wasn't paying attention to the question I was being asked.

If you don't rush through the investigations like you're hammering the "re-spawn" button on the Kill Cam View then they seem to be pretty logical.

Like you said above having to think in more than 10 second bursts seems to be a bit frustrating for some.

 

Just turned up this afternoon, the limited edition was great value for £35, nice little book with it, looking forward to putting some time into it even more so going by the positive comments from Metal & Az

 

I cancelled my pre order, I wish I never now,brought it today an absolutley love it

 

Do quite fancy this game but after watching a few twitch vids I can't really justify it being a full priced purchase, maybe a £20 game which I can honestly see it being in a month or two's time.

 

You can pick this up for like £35.00 or a little less.

What are you waiting for.

I agree it's a great game I managed to get it for 30 quid which was worth but inless you like collecting everything it could be a short game, if you buy it for the main story then I would wait till it's about 20

 

IS there a proper punishment for getting the answers wrong or is it simple eliminate until you get the correct one?

 

It depends on what you consider a "proper punishment".

It won't withhold a cut scene or throw a "GAME OVER" screen at you.

But if you don't look for the clues you won't be able to progress in the main story.

If you don't find all the clues you may not be able to solve the Side Mission cases and this will result in missed achievements.

If you don't make the right choice at the right time you will die and be forced to continue from your last checkpoint.

If this doesn't seem harsh enough you cold always restart the game from the beginning or force yourself to miss a meal as a consequence but failure to discover all the clues and correctly piece together the case will result in an poor badge ranking (your
investigations are ranked out of 3).

But this isn't "Pitfall" where one wrong step leads to calamity. It's a different kind of game that's designed for those who enjoy exploring, collecting, a good story and different and unique game play.

It's a fun game if you like that sort of stuff and will remain a good game even if some people don't.

 

Sorry but just had to give a massive thumbs up for the sheer mention of Pitfall.... loved that game

 

I would have loved it if was game over after getting it wrong forcing the player to start the investigation over again.

From reading/listening to reviews and other gamers it seems lke if you dont care about achievements/trophies you can just guess your way through the game.

I will still pick this up but when its alot cheaper.

 

Yeah you got to hunt around for the clues but you can't fail the investigation, it's strange as it gives you say 3 lives at the bottom of the screen, but once you use them you can carry on guessing, there's no reward for getting to the end without losing
a life.

However the side stories are brilliant and the game is great

 

It's a story driven game from what I have read, so "game over" would be a bit of an immersion breaker in my opinion, I would much prefer a game that let me carry on with the story but let me know I was wrong in my decisions, and my decision had minor story
impacts in other areas.
