Mum needs help! Can't get my son logged into Fortnite game.

Hi,

Have never done this before but would be very grateful for help. My son wants to play Fortnite with his friends online. We have downloaded the game but when we go to log in the following comes up on the screen:-

"To do this, change a setting

You are unable see content other people make because of how your account is set up. This can be changed in your privacy & online settings on Xbox.com

The problem is I can't seem to get to these settings. I'm not a natural microsoft user and I nearly threw the xbox out the window during the original setup!!!! Id be grateful for any advice?? Would it be wiser to do a factory reset and set the whole thing
up from scratch?!! They should do lessons for parents!!!!

Can't get logged in to fortnite

I would be very thankful if someone could help me to get my son logged in to fortnite..We have got both xbox live gold and x box game pass. When he tries to get into the game he can't. I do'nt know anything about xbox but I would really like to help him..

Can't play Fornite.... tells me I need Xbox live, but my subscription doesn't expire until 2020?????

Pretty frustrated... My son is unable to play his game because it says I need xbox live to play fortnite.. our xbox live account does not expire until 2020.... we can see his friends online playing, so we are connected to the internet, but can't get into
fortnite.. please help

Seems like the only option is to find someone who needs a game and gift it to them and get them to buy me a new gift card for the same amount to then redeem on my son's account.

Lots of people with the same problem on the forums, also people who have bought V-Bucks on the parent's account and then can't transfer them to the kids account ( glad I saw that before I made the same mistake).

Tried logging into x-box with my account and then logging into fortnite with my sons account to buy the v-bucks with my money but that isn't possible either as the fortnite account is locked to my son's login.

Thanks for your suggestions but looks like I will just have to ask around or wait to see if there is a game I can gift to him or a friend in the future.

He doesn't have a Gold account. The console here at our place is set as his home console, I don't know if he's changed the one at his mums. Is there a way that they can both play at the same time? My son logs in to a different account, I can't understand why he can't play any xbox at all when my stepson is also logged in.

same here, I set up a gamer tag for my son in family settings and set to allow everything but getting same message when trying to log on to fortnite. Please help

When my son trys to play any game that requires him to log into Xbox Live (ex: Fortnite, COD4) to play with others in network, he gets a screen that says he has to purchase Xbox Live or Live Gold. He already has an active Xbox Live Gold subscription. He
can download updates but can't log into Live at all. I have reset my internet and had my son hard reset his console; neither worked.
