Multiple Xboxs' are not reading certain discs

Hello, today I tried to play Destiny 1 on my Series X, but the console wasn't recognizing the disc. Like no disc icon on the home screen, a couple of times a prompt came up asking if the disc scratched and such, unable to read. But I cleaned the disc and it looks really clean. That prompt only came up twice, all the other times, there is no prompt or anything, console just doesnt recognise that a disc has been inserted. I tried some other games and dvds, the dvds work and some games do. But not all. Cyberpunk worked at one point then didn't, same with Overwatch. Yet some other games like Red Dead and Starlink worked. I tried testing it on two older Xbox Ones, and they have the same issue, they just don't recognize some discs. I tried a series of different things, like hard resets, Factory defaults, removing the insider preview stuff, placing the series x horizontal, unplugging other devices, clearing caches, clearing alt mac address, trying it offline. On the xbox ones I tried holding the disc for a bit while it grabs it, and tilting the console.

I don't understand how this issue can be the same on all the consoles at the same time, I feel like it has something to do with software, maybe a bug introduced in an update maybe? I am just all out for ideas, and hoping maybe someone here could have an answer.

Hello, thanks for the reply and suggestions Dérek Augusto. I just checked my nat type and it is Open. Kinda surprised if it is the discs, since the ones I tried were from different time periods, some quite newish too. Thought that if I inserted it and took it out many times that it would at least read some of it at some point.

Also a friend of mine recently had a similar issue with his Elden Ring disc not working, but after two hard resets it fixed for him. Kinda surprised that hasn't worked for me.

Friend, if it was an isolated error of 1 console, we could assume that the reader would be damaged. But as it is happening in all the others, it means that most likely the CDs are having a problem. Physical media are sensitive, so the weather itself can damage the CD recording.

The only cause other than that the CD could be having problems is your network. If it's nat strict, or nat rigid, it will actually block reading CDs.

Run the test, and check if you have this restriction.

Open the panel by pressing the Xbox button in the center of the controller.

Scroll right on the panel to the System area.

Select Settings.

Select Network.

Select Network Settings.

Select NAT Test Type.

If you don't have any restrictions, it would really be a CD problem.

Well you could change the startup choice by choosing to start with the disc in tray option under settings, startup and make your choice from there. This would mean whatever disc is in the tray would boot right into that game when the console is powered on.
As far as failures while playing the disc, it could be a few things. Make sure the disc is clean and scratch free. Try blowing into the open DVD drive to ensure its not dust collecting on the lens of the laser. Next you could always try to copy the disc onto
your hdd. Failing that, overall if the fixes don't work it sounds like the disc drive is going out. Which means you can keep trying to copy your games onto your hdd, or start a repair order at www.xbox.com/support. Sounds like since your elite is an earlier
model your warranty is probably not valid any longer. You can get an out of warranty repair for a fee of $119.99 or just a newer S series starting at MSRP $199.99 + tax for a 4gb model and $299.99 + tax for the 250gb model. Good luck .

I guess so, I have tried everything except booting the disc from start, I don't think I'll be continuing playing console games after this, I don't have the time, money or effort to continue. anyhoot, been fun Xbox.
