    Multiple Xbox Ones


    Can you have multiple Xbox Ones in a single household under the same Xbox Live ID? Family loves the Kinect voice controls for TV, Netflix, Hulu, etc. and I was thinking of getting a second console so I could actually play games on it but wasn't sure if I'd
    need a separate XBL account or if they could both be online at the same time.

    The XBox One console, how it handles xbox live profiles and how those profiles and moved to other xbox one consoles is very different than the xbox 360.

    It may help to spend some time
    here    , and then go into
    support articles     specific to any questions you may have after reading.

    In short, you cannot put a profile on a jump drive, etc. (it requires them to be downloaded to each console using the internet only)

    You also need to think about digital vs. disc purchases based on what meets your needs. (I don't want to input my preferences onto your family)

    I would recommend specifically looking at the following:

    -Getting Started with XBox One

    -Signing In

    -Xbox One Family

    -Xbox One Home Console and
    Usage Rules

    This is a lot but I'm careful not to "sale" you on anything, but instead try and point you to information. If you have specifics, feel free to reply or drop into a live chat session.

    You can have multple consoles, but you would need multiple accounts in order to be online at the same time. You can't be signed into the same account on both consoles at the same time.

    You can use Xbox lives home settings to share your accounts and gold privledges between family members. A Google or YouTube search can show you how to set this up. It allows any accounts associated with the main account access to the gold service of live
    as well as access to games purchased. Its a pretty good system for 2 consoles or less.

    Yes, you can use both consoles at the same time, with out any issues, as long as different accounts are being used, for example, you use your account on your Xbox One S, and your kids use theirs on the Xbox One S.

    Correct. On the One X you will have to be online to play your games, but other than that, you will be able to continue playing as you already have been.

    And that's also correct about the game pass games.

    also...make sure your son has a Live account and not just a xbox 360 profile. Meaning...his account is downloadable via Xbox Live rather than just a profile on an xbox360 as most kids have.

    The Xbox One will require you to create a"child" account as you can't just let your son use your profile because once he logs in somewhere else, it logs you out.

    Also, there are financial and privacy reasons that this would not be recommended.
