Multiple XBOX Ones in same house, sharing digital purchases.

Ive searched this and still cannot seem to make heads or tails of this.

Have Xbox One (#1) where all content has been purchased (digital games, DLC etc).

Son purchased his own Xbox One (#2)

Was told by MS to sign into #2 with my Gamertag, make #2 the home Xbox one and download all the games - which we did. Xbox #2 can play those games.

Was also told to go back to #1 and make that the home device again and to purchase all content on that device going forward and then when I wanted it on #2 to switch #2 back to home device and download. Should work in theory but....

I thought you could only change home consoles a certain amount of times?

I guess the question really is, since I purchased stuff digitally, how can I make sure anyone can play it at anytime on either of the 2 consoles? I am not looking to be able to play the same game at the same time (unless we have 2 copies of course).

This is the exact reason I was fearful of digital purchases. At least with a disc I could put the disc in and play it regardless...

Hi,

If I have two xbox ones can I use only one xbox gold account?

xbox one will have my tag with gold as Home xbox (primary) and a 2nd account (my gf)

Can my 2nd xbox have my gf as home xbox and me as 2nd account, this will share all the games on both xboxs but will mf gf need to have a gold account?

that's the thing, in this case the active gold account is mine not hers, can I have her account as main account on 2nd xbox then mine with gold as secondary?

As I said I original post, the box we already have has my account with main and gold and her account is 2ndary

You can only change your Home setting 3 times in a year and you can only have 1 console set as your Home console at a time. If you purchase the content on your account, anyone else will only be able to play that content while they're using your Home console,
but only that console. You can use the content on any console you want.

Hi, you can share with multiple accounts on one xbox. But game sharing and live ect is restricted to one other console in the house.

Good question, yes you can have two Xbox One's in the same house. If its your girl's friend first time downloading her account to a Xbox One that Xbox One will become her main Xbox. As long as you have one Active gold account downloaded to the system your
gold will be shared across the accounts. in this case her account.

Yes. However, the way of making the Xbox her main Xbox is only by making sure that when you download her profile that you can go to settings, account and set it as Make Home Xbox. If this is her first time downloading her profile on a Xbox One then it will
automatically become her main Xbox. At this moment there is no way to set a Xbox One to one Account as its the owner. The Xbox One gives each profile the same experience. You can download your profile on the same Xbox as her since you have gold and it should
work. Giving all the profiles online experience.
